NextGen® Enterprise EHR User Interface

The Layout and Preferences Guide describes the menus, toolbars, modules, and other components of NextGen® Enterprise EHR application interface. It explains how to set up user preferences and work with patient encounters and categories. It includes instructions for the following modules: Graphing module. How to create a graphical representation of a patient information. Family Unit module. Set up a New Family Unit

NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to set up new family units from existing patients. The Family Unit Setup window enables you to either create a new group of patients or make changes to an existing group. From the File menu, select Family Unit and then Unit Setup. The Family Unit Setup and Family Name windows open. In the Family Name window, enter the name of the family unit to set up, and select Add. The new family unit name is added to the list of available choices. To find an existing family unit to be updated, enter the name of the unit, and select Search. The matching family unit name is listed. Select OK. The Family Unit Setup window opens, with the family unit name selected on the Family Name window. To change the name of a Family Unit Name or to select another Family Unit, select the Family Name button to return to the Family Name window. System Administrator Help

View Family Unit Member(s) Operation

The View Family Unit Member(s) Operations subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to use the Member Search to search for family units and view the family members within the family unit. This permission is helpful to users who do not have the View Patient Name permission from the main Patient Lookup. Family Unit Setup Operation

The Family Unit Setup Operations subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to create, edit, modify, and delete family units in the Family Unit module. Select the Category View

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Categories tab enables you to view the items in the List View, or Tree View from the list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. To view the items without category grouping, select List View from the list. To view the items grouped in categories, select Tree View from the list. Note: The system retains the user's last category view preference.
