Provider Service Level

A provider who is enrolled with the Surescripts retail or mail-order pharmacy networks can perform certain actions only if the following applicable service levels are selected: New Rx sends a new Rx request to the pharmacy. Note: This service level is always enabled for enrolled providers. The Practice Rights in System Administrator must be set to Yes. Refill Request receives refill requests from pharmacies. Medication History receives a patient's entire medication history from Surescripts. Eligibility checks patient's eligibility. Rx Change receives a request from a pharmacy to change a prescription. Rx Fill receives prescription fill statuses from pharmacies that support the RxFill transaction. Rx Fill Indicator Change changes the RxFill notifications for a medication and send an update response back to the enrolled pharmacy. View the Pharmacy ePrescribing Service Level

The retail service levels for pharmacies are obtained from Surescripts. Because the pharmacy information is downloaded, you cannot change the settings. In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Pharmacies. On the Pharmacies List window, double-click a pharmacy. The Modify Pharmacy Information window opens. Select the ePrescribing tab. If the pharmacy is already mapped to an ePrescribing pharmacy, this tab displays the ePrescribing pharmacy and retail service level details. If the pharmacy participates in the Surescripts retail pharmacy network, the Retail Service Level section indicates which actions the pharmacy can take with electronic prescriptions. Providers ePrescribing Tab

On the ePrescribing tab of the Modify Provider Information window, you can enter electronic prescription data that is specifically used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can enroll providers in retail and mail-order electronic prescribing networks and determine the service levels they are enrolled in. Networks This section enables you to enroll a provider in the retail and mail order programs. It also displays the values for the enrollment settings for the retail and mail order programs. Setting Value Status Displays whether the provider is Enrolled or Not Enrolled in the program. Enrollment Date Displays the date of the provider's enrollment. Receive Rx Fill Notification Messages

The administrator and the user setup is required to receive Rx Fill notification messages. The administrator should do the following: Enroll the provider for Rx Fill and Rx Fill Indicator Change Retail Service Level in File Maintenance. Enroll the Surescripts provider for Rx Fill. Verify that the retail pharmacy participates in Rx Fill transaction. To update pharmacy records, perform a pharmacy download. Make sure NextGen® Communication Services(NCS) is running. You do not need to make changes to the processes. Each user that wants to see the Rx Fill notifications in the Medications Module must add the RxFill Status column in the Medications module > Grid Preferences. ePrescribing Setup

Before you begin Before you use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR ePrescribing feature, the following ePrescribing setup procedures must be completed: Install NextGen® Communication Services (NCS). Enable Surescripts functionality in NCS. Note: Before you attempt to set up ePrescribing, you must contact NextGen Healthcare Support to install and configure NCS. Download the Surescripts pharmacies. Map unmatched pharmacies and add unmatched pharmacies as new. Check the pharmacy service level. Enroll the providers in the Surescripts network. Set up eRx permissions for the providers. Set up ePCS (Electronic Prescriptions of Controlled Substances) for authorized providers. Set up tabs and categories for eRx refills and eRx errors in the Workflow module's task list. Set up workgroups for eRx refills and eRx errors in the Workflow module.
