Provider Service Level

A provider who is enrolled with the Surescripts retail or mail-order pharmacy networks can perform certain actions only if the following applicable service levels are selected: New Rx sends a new Rx request to the pharmacy. Note: This service level is always enabled for enrolled providers. The Practice Rights in System Administrator must be set to Yes. Refill Request receives refill requests from pharmacies. Medication History receives a patient's entire medication history from Surescripts. Eligibility checks patient's eligibility. Rx Change receives a request from a pharmacy to change a prescription. Rx Fill receives prescription fill statuses from pharmacies that support the RxFill transaction. Rx Fill Indicator Change changes the RxFill notifications for a medication and send an update response back to the enrolled pharmacy. Cancel Rx sends a cancel request for an electronic prescription that was previously sent to a pharmacy. ePCS electronically prescribes Drug Enforcement Administ

Pharmacy Service Level

A pharmacy that participates in the Surescripts retail pharmacy network can perform actions depending on the retail service levels settings of the pharmacy. The available service levels are as follows: Rx Fill sends prescription fill statuses to the provider. Rx Fill Indicator Change changes the RxFill notifications for a medication and send an update response back to the enrolled pharmacy. Rx Change sends a request to change the prescription to the provider. Refill Request sends a refill request to the provider. New Rx sends a new prescription request to the pharmacy. ePCS support electronic prescriptions for controlled substances. Cancel Rx receives prescription cancellation requests from the provider. The retail service levels for pharmacies are obtained from Surescripts. Because the pharmacy information is downloaded, you cannot change the settings. In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Pharmacies. On the Pharmacies List window, double-click a pharmacy. The Modify Pharmacy Information window opens. Select the ePrescribing tab. If the pharmacy is already mapped to an ePrescribing pharmacy, this tab displays the ePrescribing pharmacy and retail service level details. If the pharmacy participates in the Surescripts retail pharmacy network, the Retail Service Level section indicates which actions the pharmacy can take with electronic prescriptions.
