Pharmacy Service Level

A pharmacy that participates in the Surescripts retail pharmacy network can perform actions depending on the retail service levels settings of the pharmacy. The available service levels are as follows: Rx Fill sends prescription fill statuses to the provider. Rx Fill Indicator Change changes the RxFill notifications for a medication and send an update response back to the enrolled pharmacy. Rx Change sends a request to change the prescription to the provider. Refill Request sends a refill request to the provider. New Rx sends a new prescription request to the pharmacy. ePCS support electronic prescriptions for controlled substances. Cancel Rx receives prescription cancellation requests from the provider. ePrescribing Setup

Before you begin Before you use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR ePrescribing feature, the following ePrescribing setup procedures must be completed: Install NextGen® Communication Services (NCS). Enable Surescripts functionality in NCS. Note: Before you attempt to set up ePrescribing, you must contact NextGen Healthcare Support to install and configure NCS. Download the Surescripts pharmacies. Map unmatched pharmacies and add unmatched pharmacies as new. Check the pharmacy service level. Enroll the providers in the Surescripts network. Set up eRx permissions for the providers. Set up ePCS (Electronic Prescriptions of Controlled Substances) for authorized providers. Set up tabs and categories for eRx refills and eRx errors in the Workflow module's task list. Set up workgroups for eRx refills and eRx errors in the Workflow module. Assign each Surescripts-enrolled provider with an eRx-specific workgroup and task list category. Set up supervising physician. Set up multiple destinations. System

Providers ePrescribing Tab

On the ePrescribing tab of the Modify Provider Information window, you can enter electronic prescription data that is specifically used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can enroll providers in retail and mail-order electronic prescribing networks and determine the service levels they are enrolled in. For more information about electronic prescribing, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest ePrescribing User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Networks This section enables you to enroll a provider in the retail and mail order programs. It also displays the values for the enrollment settings for the retail and mail order programs. Setting Value Status Displays whether the provider is Enrolled or Not Enrolled in the program. Enrollment Date Displays the date of the provider's enrollment. Un-enrollment Date Displays the date the provider's enrollment was removed. SureScripts Provider ID and Mail-Order Prescriber ID Displays the ID assigned to the provider at the ti

ePCS Service Level for Pharmacies and Providers

To send controlled substances to electronic prescribing networks, both the provider and the pharmacy must meet the criteria set by Surescripts and the DEA. The pharmacies are set up outside of the NextGen applications and downloaded into File Maintenance. You must set up the providers to meet the criteria. To check whether a pharmacy supports ePCS: In File Maintenance, select Master Files > Pharmacies. In the Retail Service Level section, the ePCS check box is selected if the pharmacy supports ePCS. The retail service levels for pharmacies are obtained from Surescripts. Because the pharmacy information is downloaded, you cannot change the settings. In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Pharmacies. On the Pharmacies List window, double-click a pharmacy. The Modify Pharmacy Information window opens. Select the ePrescribing tab. If the pharmacy is already mapped to an ePrescribing pharmacy, this tab displays the ePrescribing pharmacy and retail service level details.
