Specify a Diagnosis Status

In the Billing ICD List tab, you can only change the status of a diagnosis to Resolved. After you Resolve a diagnosis, you cannot change it. You can, however, duplicate (Recur) the ICD code to create an exact copy of the diagnosis with a status of Unresolved. Select a patient. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem to specify a status. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the problem in the Billing ICD List data entry area. Note: If there is more than one instance of a Diagnosis/Billing ICD code, select the top level displayed for the Billing ICD code to resolve all of the listed instances or select a specific Onset Date of the diagnosis to resolve the particular instance. If you are resolving multiple instances of the same Billing ICD Code, a warning message appears. Select Yes. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Resolved from the context menu. Select the Status list in the Billing ICD List data entry area and select the Resolved

Delete an ICD Code from the ICD Billing List

You can delete an ICD code from the Billing ICD list if the Billing ICD code is not assigned to a locked encounter. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem to modify. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Delete from the context menu. Select the Delete button on the data entry area toolbar. The Delete Diagnosis message prompts you to confirm deletion. Select Yes to delete the ICD code. Note: All deleted billing ICD entries are displayed in the Deleted Items window. Billing ICD List

The billing ICD list displays all Resolved and Unresolved billing ICD entries for a patient's problems and the details entered for each billing ICD entry in tree-view format. You can expand or collapse a tree view using the relevant and buttons. You can also modify the data associated with each billing ICD entry. Billing ICD List Billing ICD List Toolbar The billing ICD list toolbar displays options that modify the list of billing ICD entries. Manage Billing ICD List Entries Modify and manage the entries in the Billing ICD List using the features displayed in the Billing ICD List Data Entry Area Toolbar. Billing ICD List Data Entry Area The billing ICD list data entry area provides the options to add or modify the billing ICD information of items displayed in the billing ICD list display area. Modify a Problem in the Problem List

You can modify or update any problem that is not assigned to a Locked Encounter. If a problem is assigned to a Locked Encounter, you cannot make any modifications except to enter a Resolved Date. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem you want to modify. Open Problems module. Select the problem. Add an ICD to the ICD Billing List

The Add ICD option enables you to add a ICD code to the billing ICD list. Open Billing ICD List. On the Billing ICD List tab, select the Add ICD button. The Add Billing ICD window opens. All Diagnosis To search for a patient's diagnosis, do the following In the Search field, enter the diagnosis description in full or in part. Specify whether you want the Add Billing ICD window to search for ICD codes in the All Diagnoses list (default), the Patient's Diagnoses list, the Patient's Chronic Diagnoses list, a Favorites folder, or by Categories. Select Search. The application displays a list of search results. The most frequently assigned ICD code appears at the top of the list. Search results To add a search result to a favorite's list, right-click the search result and select Add to Favorite Group. Modify Locked Encounter Diagnoses in the Billing ICD List

Locked encounters cannot be modified. However, you can duplicate (Recur) a problem and modify the duplicate. You can only Recur a problem in the Billing ICD List tab. For details on locking and unlocking an encounter, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest NextGen® Enterprise User Guide. Select the patient's encounter that contains the diagnosis to modify. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the diagnosis. Select the Recur button. NextGen® Enterprise enters the same problem with the current date. Make changes to the status and severity of the problem. Enter additional notes.
