Modify an ICD in the ICD Billing List

You can modify or update a diagnosis that is not assigned to a Locked Encounter. If a problem is assigned to a Locked Encounter, you cannot make any modifications except to enter a Resolved Date. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem to modify. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the diagnosis. Enter changes. Select Save. Open Billing ICD List

The Billing ICD List tab of the Problems module displays the details of the billing ICD codes of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter. To open the Problems module, select Problems on the Quick Buttons panel.The Problems module opens displaying the Problem List tab by default. To open the billing ICD list, select the Billing ICD List tab. Billing ICD List Billing ICD List The billing ICD list displays all the resolved and unresolved billing ICD entries of a patient. Add an ICD to the ICD Billing List

The Add ICD option enables you to add a ICD code to the billing ICD list. Open Billing ICD List. On the Billing ICD List tab, select the Add ICD button. The Add Billing ICD window opens. All Diagnosis To search for a patient's diagnosis, do the following In the Search field, enter the diagnosis description in full or in part. Specify whether you want the Add Billing ICD window to search for ICD codes in the All Diagnoses list (default), the Patient's Diagnoses list, the Patient's Chronic Diagnoses list, a Favorites folder, or by Categories. Select Search. The application displays a list of search results. The most frequently assigned ICD code appears at the top of the list. Delete a Problem in the Problem List

Open the Problems Module. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem you want to delete. Note: You can delete a problem from a patient's problem list if the problem is not assigned to a locked encounter. Select the problem in the problem list. Do one of the following: Right-click the problem, and then select Delete. On the problem list data entry area toolbar, select Delete. The Delete Problem message prompts you to confirm if you want to delete the problem. Select Yes to delete the problem. If the problem was not entered in error, clear the Entered in error check box. Select Refresh in the problem list toolbar to view the updated problem list. Note: All deleted problem list entries are displayed in the Deleted Items window. Modify Locked Encounter Diagnoses in the Billing ICD List

Locked encounters cannot be modified. However, you can duplicate (Recur) a problem and modify the duplicate. You can only Recur a problem in the Billing ICD List tab. For details on locking and unlocking an encounter, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest NextGen® Enterprise User Guide. Select the patient's encounter that contains the diagnosis to modify. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the diagnosis. Select the Recur button. NextGen® Enterprise enters the same problem with the current date. Make changes to the status and severity of the problem. Enter additional notes. Add a Problem to the Billing ICD List

From the problem list, you can add a problem to the billing ICD list. Open the Problems Module. Select a problem from the problem list. Do one of the following: Right-click the problem, and then select Add to Billing ICD List. On the date entry grid tracking toolbar, select Add to Billing ICD List. The Billing ICD Search window opens. The application maps the problem SNOMED Concept ID code to the billing ICD code and displays the results in the Billing ICD List tab. Select Mapped ICD Code Note: The Billing ICD Search window displays synonym descriptions associated with an ICD code in the search results. If the selected problem has multiple billing ICD-10 codes, the application displays the list of mapped codes. Select which billing ICD-10 code to add to the billing ICD list for the current encounter. If the selected problem has only one billing ICD-10 code, that code is automatically added to the billing ICD list for the current encounter. Select the Preferences button to display a lis
