Specify a Diagnosis Status

In the Billing ICD List tab, you can only change the status of a diagnosis to Resolved. After you Resolve a diagnosis, you cannot change it. You can, however, duplicate (Recur) the ICD code to create an exact copy of the diagnosis with a status of Unresolved. Select a patient. Select the patient's encounter that contains the problem to specify a status. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the problem in the Billing ICD List data entry area. Note: If there is more than one instance of a Diagnosis/Billing ICD code, select the top level displayed for the Billing ICD code to resolve all of the listed instances or select a specific Onset Date of the diagnosis to resolve the particular instance. If you are resolving multiple instances of the same Billing ICD Code, a warning message appears. Select Yes. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Resolved from the context menu. Select the Status list in the Billing ICD List data entry area and select the Resolved

Open Billing ICD List

The Billing ICD List tab of the Problems module displays the details of the billing ICD codes of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter. To open the Problems module, select Problems on the Quick Buttons panel.The Problems module opens displaying the Problem List tab by default. To open the billing ICD list, select the Billing ICD List tab. Billing ICD List Billing ICD List The billing ICD list displays all the resolved and unresolved billing ICD entries of a patient. Modify Locked Encounter Diagnoses in the Billing ICD List

Locked encounters cannot be modified. However, you can duplicate (Recur) a problem and modify the duplicate. You can only Recur a problem in the Billing ICD List tab. For details on locking and unlocking an encounter, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest NextGen® Enterprise User Guide. Select the patient's encounter that contains the diagnosis to modify. Open Problems module. Select the Billing ICD List tab. Select the diagnosis. Select the Recur button. NextGen® Enterprise enters the same problem with the current date. Make changes to the status and severity of the problem. Enter additional notes. Add an ICD to the ICD Billing List

The Add ICD option enables you to add a ICD code to the billing ICD list. Open Billing ICD List. On the Billing ICD List tab, select the Add ICD button. The Add Billing ICD window opens. Specify whether you want the Add Billing ICD window to search for ICD codes in the All Diagnoses list (default), the Patient's Diagnoses list, the Patient's Chronic Diagnoses list, a Favorites folder, or by Categories. Add Problems in the Problem List

You can add a problem to the problem list of a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template. In the Problem List panel, select Add/Update. Enter a problem in the diagnosis search window, and select Search. Select the problem from the list of the search result, and select Select. Select the applicable ICD code, and select Select. The application automatically fills the associated values in the Fully Specified SNOMED Description, Problem Description, ICD Description, and ICD Code fields in the Problem List panel. Note: For all new problems, the Mark as Chronic check box is selected by default. In Clinical Status, select the status of the problem. In Onset Date, enter the date of onset. In Resolved Date, enter the date when the selected problem is resolved. If the problem is not chronic, to mark the problem as a secondary condition, select Secondary Condition. Adding a Tracked Diagnosis from the Patient's Problem List to the ICD Billing List

You can add a diagnosis from a patient's problem list to ICD billing list for that patient. A chronic or tracked condition diagnosis from the patient's problem list can be added to the ICD billing list. This causes the diagnosis to be associated with an ICD billing code, and enables it to be associated with a care guideline. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. Expand the Problem List panel, do the following: Select the Show chronic check box to display chronic problems only. Select the Show my tracked problems check box to display only those diagnoses that have been assigned to the patient’s tracked problems list.
