Updating Lab and Radiology Orders

You can open an existing unlocked lab or radiology order and add or change details for it. You can also add comments for an updated order, if required. If the encounter associated with an order has been locked, you can only view the order. The Save, Save & Send, Save & Fax, Save & Print, or Save & Task actions are unavailable. When you update an unfinished order, you must complete all required fields that have been set up as Mandatory Data Points in File Maintenance Practice Preferences. These required fields appear in red text. If you do not fill in a required field, when you try to save your selections or entries, a message appears, prompting you to complete the field. Before performing Orders tasks, such as creating and sending Lab and Radiology orders, you need to set up the appropriate system rights, preferences, and tasks for the Orders module. Adding and Updating Vaccine Funding Source Codes

To better manage vaccine funding sources, the Immunizations module enables you to configure and update the Vaccine Funding source codes for your practice’s registries. When administering an immunization, the Vaccine Funding Source codes display in the Immunizations module when you create or update an Immunization order and select a Registry. The Vaccine Funding Source also displays in the Funding Source list on the Vaccine Details tab when you administer a vaccine. Setting Up Required Immunizations Orders Fields Best Practices

Based on your practice needs and the Immunizations Order workflow, you may need to consider which fields to set up as required (or Mandatory Data Points) when selecting vaccines and then administering the Immunizations order. While most of the fields you would set up as required display on the Vaccines Details tab, there may be other fields your practice would like to set up as required when selecting vaccines or that can be applied to the entire order, such as Registry.
