Attach a Photo

Attaching a File System or Patient Chart Image is another way to attach an image stored on your file system to a finding. Right-click the finding row in the Findings Grid, and select Attach Image. The Select Image window opens. Locate the image and select Open to display it in the PHOTO pane at the lower left corner of the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component window. The image is attached to the finding in the patient's chart when you save the annotated image. It is labeled with the Finding Name - Region Description. Note: If you delete an annotation in either the Findings Grid or on the active image, the photo attached to that annotation is no longer displayed. Associate Multiple Images to a Finding

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) enables you to associate multiple images to a single finding. When associating multiple images to a single finding, each associated image must have unique image description. The image description is automatically assigned based on the specific numbering format. Graphical Exam Tool Annotations

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) enables you to: Place annotations on images to document the location of findings. The placement of the annotations is converted into text and captured as an attribute of the finding. The attributes are saved to the patient's chart. For example, a dermatologist can place findings for cancer on an image. The attributes related to each finding can include size, color, location, or description. Attach a finding to a chief complaint or reason for visit. You can attach multiple findings to different reasons for visit. Mark a finding for follow-up and create a to-do task for the finding. Attach an image (photo or drawing) to a finding. The image can be from the provider's file system or from the patient's chart for the current encounter. Import a Web Camera or Video Device Image

You can capture and attach an image from a web camera or video device to a finding and save it to the patient's chart. From the Findings Grid, select the finding row that you want to capture an image for. Select the Acquire Image button at the top right of the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component window. The Camera Capture window opens. The system attempts to find connected cameras. If a connection is made, the current real-time image appears. If no camera is present, a blank window appears. If you have multiple cameras, select the applicable one from the Device list. If a device settings window opens, review the settings, and adjust them, as needed. To capture the image, select Camera. The device streams video to the window. To freeze the video stream, select Snapshot. Select OK to capture the currently displayed image. Attach a File System or Patient Chart Image

The Finding Images enables you to attach an image to each finding made. You can attach an image file saved to your file system or the patient's chart for the current encounter. You can annotate and save images to the patient's chart using the Image module. After you attach a patient chart image, the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) displays the latest saved annotations made to it. If the patient chart image is signed off in the PAQ, the signature is not affected by attaching the image to a finding. Add Additional Images to a Finding

You can attach a different image to the finding. Each attached image has a unique name. If you attach an image that was saved to the patient's chart, its name is retained, but you can assign another name. If you attach an image from your file system or a web cam/video device, the GET names it as finding name - location, for example: Polyp - Ascending Colon. If you attach an image that has the same name (description) as another image attached to a different finding, the name is followed by a number in parentheses. For example: Polyp - Ascending Colon, Polyp - Ascending Colon (2), and Polyp - Ascending Colon (3). In GET, click the Options and Settings Popup Menu button and select Finding Images from the menu. Findings The Finding Images window opens. Finding Images From the VIEW list, select one of the following: Patient's Chart The available images in the chart appear in the left pane of the Finding Images window.
