Update Existing Descriptions

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) allows you to update existing descriptions of patient images with the finding name and region description when they get attached to findings. The image description for each finding is unique. The finding with the same name and region is updated as Finding Name - Region Description(x) , where x increases the image description starting from 2.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. Select a patient.
  3. Select an existing encounter or create an encounter.
  4. On the Encounter History or Categories tab, select any image.
    The image opens.
  5. On the main toolbar, select Save.
    The Save Image File window opens.
  6. Enter the Image Description, select the Save image as, and select OK.
    The image is saved to the patients chart.
  7. Open the template that contains the GET component.
    The GET component window opens. A new Images pane appears on the left side of the tool and enables you to associate images and findings more easily into the workflow.

  8. Select FINDINGS and annotate the GET image.
  9. Override the image descriptions as follows:
    1. Select the Menu icon in the Images header and select Settings.
      The Images Settings page appears.

  10. Select the location of the images from the View list.
  11. Select from either the Patients Chart or a location on your network. If needed, select the Ellipsis button to select a different network location.
  12. Select the Override Image Description check box.
    The image description is automatically updated to finding-location when the finding is added to GET.
  13. Select OK.
    The images are added to the IMAGES pane.
