Assign Quick File Configurations to Practices

Before you begin In Enterprise Preferences, you must activate Practice access for Quick File Configurations. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System, and then select Quick File Configurations. The Quick File Configurations List window opens. Right-click the configuration in the list that you want to assign, and then select Practice Access. The Quick File Master Access by Practice window opens. Select the practices that you want to have access to the Quick File configuration. To select all the practices, select the Practice option. Select OK. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Admin, and then select Preferences > User. The Doc Mgmt tab opens in the User Preferences window. In the Filing Options section, set up the default filing options. In the Tasking Options section, select default users for To-Do form tasking, select a default category for To-Do list items for the users, and then apply the current date to the items created for the users' To-Do list. Note: The default users you select in User Preferences are overridden by existing settings for document types. The default NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR users or groups selected in the user preferences of NextGen® Document Management takes precedence over the users or groups selected in the Document Type Information window of File Maintenance. In the Printing Options section, select the print options you want to set as the default. The Print Doc Mgmt Images window displays the default printing options that you select in the Printing

Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Admin > Preferences > Enterprise. The Doc Mgmt tab opens in the Enterprise Preferences window. In Maximum Search Results, enter the maximum number of images, ranging from 100 to 3000, to display during a search. To display the chart-level alerts in the viewer when you access a patient image, select the Enable chart level alerts checkbox. To display the search results in categories when you search for images in NextGen® Document Management, select the Use Categories in Search Results checkbox. Note: When NextGen® Document Management displays categories in the search results, you can select only individual documents for printing or exporting from the search results list. You must open the documents in the viewer to print or export them. To prevent the creation of excessively large images, in Maximum Scanner DPI, set a maximum dots-per-inch (DPI) value. Set Up the Quick File Configurations Master File

Before you begin To set up the quick file configurations master file, do the following: Set up Quick File Hot Keys. Permit quick file configurations for specific practices in the enterprise by selecting the Practice access for quick file configurations master file checkbox through the Enterprise Preferences window. In File Maintenance, assign quick file configurations to the practices. In NextGen® Document Management, select the Doc Mgmt tab of the User Preferences window, and then select a default quick file configuration to activate the Quick File feature. You can apply the selected configuration when you use Quick File to file a document. Note: To deactivate Quick File, select the <none> option in the Default Quick File Configuration field. A Quick File configuration is a profile that controls which Quick File hot keys are available to the user when they file a batch of images. The Quick File feature functions as follows: Each time you select a Quick File button, the application files the current page by populating the document type and loading any pre-configured fields. If you select the same Quick File button, the application files the current page and moves to the next page. If you select the same Quick File button, but changed patients before selecting it, the application creates a new document and moves to the first page of the document. If you select the same Quick File button number, but changed Quick File configurations, the application creates a new document and moves to the first page of the document.
