Set Up the Quick File Configurations Master File

Before you begin To set up the quick file configurations master file, do the following: Set up Quick File Hot Keys. Permit quick file configurations for specific practices in the enterprise by selecting the Practice access for quick file configurations master file checkbox through the Enterprise Preferences window. In File Maintenance, assign quick file configurations to the practices. In NextGen® Document Management, select the Doc Mgmt tab of the User Preferences window, and then select a default quick file configuration to activate the Quick File feature. You can apply the selected configuration when you use Quick File to file a document. Note: To deactivate Quick File, select the <none> option in the Default Quick File Configuration field. A Quick File configuration is a profile that controls which Quick File hot keys are available to the user when they file a batch of images. The Quick File feature functions as follows: Each time you select a Quick File button, the application files the current page by populating the document type and loading any pre-configured fields. Set Up Quick File Hot Keys Master File

When you set up the Quick File Hot Keys master file and Quick File is activated, you can configure the Quick File entries that appear at the top of the File window in NextGen® Document Management. Each entry you make in the Quick File Hot Keys master file contains predetermined filing information that you can apply to a document or image by selecting the applicable Quick File entry. The Quick File Hot Keys master file saves you the time it would take to manually enter the filing information for each image in a batch. With the Quick File feature, you only need to select the appropriate Quick File listing for each document in the batch. Example Quick File list of hot keys Open File Maintenance. Before you begin In Enterprise Preferences, you must activate Practice access for Quick File Configurations. Open File Maintenance. In Master Files, select System, and then select Quick File Configurations. The Quick File Configurations List window opens. Right-click the configuration in the list that you want to assign, and then select Practice Access. The Quick File Master Access by Practice window opens. Select the practices that you want to have access to the Quick File configuration. To select all the practices, select the Practice option. Select OK. You can set preferences for your practice from NextGen® Enterprise PM or File Maintenance. To open the Practice Preferences window, do one of the following: In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > > Preferences > Practice.
