View Order Sets with a Referral

Open the My Custom Plan template. With the diagnosis highlighted, go to the Order Options section to choose the Plan Type of Order Set. Assign a Referral to a Group of Providers

The Location view is used to enter a referral that is not specific to one provider. On the My Custom Plan template, My Plan panel, select a diagnosis. Under Order Options, select Referrals. Next to View, select Locations and click a location. Note: The Referrals plan type, Location list includes the options to Show All or Show Internal. These lists are configured in File Maintenance. Enter a Specialty, Reason for Referral, and Timeframe. Enter any additional information in the General Comments field. The General Comments field includes My Phrases/Common Phrases links. Enter and View Diagnoses on My Custom Plan

Orders can only be created after an assessment is designated for the encounter. On the My Custom Plan template, My Plan panel, do one of the following actions: Next to Diagnosis Selection, select the desired search option (Today's Assessments or Clinical Problems) to highlight the assessment in the grid. Click the Dx Search link to open the diagnosis search window. Search for and highlight the correct diagnosis. Click Select to return to My Custom Plan. Click Add/Edit Assessment or Add/Edit Problems below the grid (depending on the search option selected) to add as many assessments and/or clinical problems as is required. Click Save & Close to return to My Custom Plan. Note: There are five diagnoses or four clinical problems immediately visible in the grid with the option to scroll down to view all of the entered data. Search for Providers on a Plan Type

The functionality to search for and select a provider name is available on the Referrals, Follow-up, Lab Orders, Diagnostics, Office Medications, and Instructions plan types on the My Custom Plan template. On the My Custom Plan template, My Plan panel, highlight a diagnosis. My Plan Under Order Options, select Referrals and next to View, select Providers. Note: The Referrals plan type includes the options to Show All or Show Internal Only. These lists are based on the rendering provider designation selected in File Maintenance. Show Internal Only is comprised of the provider records that include the rendering designation. To search for a provider in the Follow-up plan type, select Follow-up. A Search field displays above the grid: The list only includes the provider names that contain the string of values entered into the Search field in either the last name or first name when the magnifying glass button is selected. Set the Rendering Provider for Your Practice

The configured provider preferences are the basis for the provider search functionality on My Custom Plan. The search functionality to document a provider associated with a Referrals plan type is based on two lists: Internal Only and All. The option to Show Internal Only is comprised of the provider records that include a designation for rendering physicians at the practice. Open the File Maintenance application. Select Master Files > EHR > Providers. The Providers List window opens. Double-click the appropriate provider's name. The Modify Provider Information window opens for the selected physician. On the Practice tab, select the option to make the open provider record a Rendering provider at this practice. Modify Provider Information Click OK to return to the Provider List. Click Closeto save the designation. Return to NextGen® Enterprise to ensure that the provider's name is available on the Show Internal Only list during a provider search on the My Custom Plan template. Parent top

Set Up Required Referral and Follow-up Plan Fields

A practice-level configuration is available to select which fields are required for the Referral and Follow-up plan types. In My Custom Plan Setup, General Configuration panel, click the Set My Custom Plan Required Fields link to launch a template with options for the required fields. My Custom Plan Select the required field name check boxes for Referrals, Follow-up, and Disposition. Click Save & Close and then click Save in the NextGen® Enterprise top toolbar. With the option turned on, an alert based on your practice's selections appears in a concatenated form on the My Plan or My Custom Plan template in run time.
