Update Status or Compliance of an Orderable Item
You can update the status of an orderable item using the Care Guidelines panel.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.
The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens.
- Expand the Care Guidelines panel.
- Select the following Status from the list:
- Completed or Performed Elsewhere
- Select the status Completed or Performed Elsewhere.
The Historical Test - Quick Entry template opens.
- Select the test, enter thedate done, and select Save & Add New.
The date appears in the Last Completed field, and the Next Due field updates to reflect the new calculated due date. The Status field updates and appears as Completed.
- Declined or Decline Permanent
- Select the status Declined or Decline Permanent.
A second list of reasons opens.
- Select a reason for declining the test from the list.
The Status field updates to display the selected status. The selected status detail appears below the Status field.
- The declined guideline will be carried forward to the subsequent encounters and appears as due, even if the interval is set as once.
The decline permanent guideline will not be carried forward to the subsequent encounters.
- The declined guideline will be carried forward to the subsequent encounters and appears as due, even if the interval is set as once.
- Hold Testing
- Select the status Hold Testing.
The onscreen Calendar opens.
- Select a future date. This is the date to resume this guideline.
The date selected for last completed date appears in the Last Completed field, and the new calculated due date appears in the Next Due field. The Status field updates the selected status.
- The Resume testing on and the selected date appear below the Status field.
- Excluded or Exclude Permanent
- Select the status Excluded or Exclude Permanent.
A second list of reasons opens.
- Select a reason for excluding the test from the list. The due date will be blank.
The Status field updates to display the selected status. The selected status detail appears below the Status field.Note: Exception or measures for excluded and exclude permanent guideline status.
- If the guideline is tied to a measure, then the Exceptions/Measures template opens:
- For Excluded status, if the exception is not marked as permanent on theExceptions/Measures template, then the guideline with status excluded appears in the subsequent encounters based on the recently completed date or due date.
- For Exclude permanentstatus, if the exception is not marked as permanent on the Exceptions/Measures template, then the guideline with status exclude permanent does not appear in the subsequent encounters.
- For Excluded or Exclude permanent statuses, if the exception is marked as permanent on the Exceptions/Measures template, the guideline will not be carried forward and appear in the subsequent encounters.
- If the guideline is not tied to a measure, then the guideline status picklist opens.
- For Excluded status, if on the Care Guideline template, the guideline is marked as excluded with the result value. The guideline appears as excluded in the subsequent encounters even if the interval is set as once based on the recently completed date or due date.
- For Exclude permanent status, the guideline will not be carried forward and display in subsequent encounters.

- If the guideline is tied to a measure, then the Exceptions/Measures template opens:
- To enter a brief comment, select the Comments field, and enter the text.
