Reviewing Care Guidelines History

You can review the history of care guidelines tests on the Care Guidelines History template. A history of care guideline tests or exams can be reviewed on the Care Guidelines History template. You can see all guideline items that are completed and no longer due. For example, the peds guideline was applied to a 14 year old patient. Once the patient reaches adulthood, and all the well visits and other tests in the guideline are completed and no longer due, the peds guideline do not appear in the Care Guidelines template. Instead, these completed guideline items are seen on the Care Guidelines History template. Care Guidelines History The Care Guidelines History template can be opened from the: Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines template. Active Guidelines panel on the Activate Care Guidelines template. This template opens from the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines template. Enter, Review, and Update Guideline Status

You can document the details for the patient on the Care Guidelines grid view template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. Select a guideline item from the grid. Details for the care guideline fill in the fields. To edit the changes for information appeared for the guideline, do the following: In the Goal field, enter a goal for the patient or select from the list. Select the Status from the list. Select the Action from the list. Note: For guideline items that are ordered, fills in automatically. The Status and Action fields are read-only. Care Guidelines Select Update. The grid displays the updated Status. Note: To see the goal, select the item in the grid to display details in the fields. View a Clinical Reference for Guideline Items

You can view the clinical references for a recommended care and care guideline orderable items on the Activate Care Guidelines template. You can view the web-based clinical reference for recommended care and care guideline orderable items. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. Select a care guideline item and select the Web button. You can view the addresses of guideline clinical references from the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines grid view template. Activate Guidelines The corresponding clinical reference opens. View Care Guidelines

You can view a quick list of the patient's Care Guidelines for due and overdue items. Additionally, you can open the Care Guidelines module to manage Health Maintenance and Disease Management functions, including guideline testing and screening, and recommended care. For more information on Care Guidelines, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Care Guidelines User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view a quick list of the patient's Care Guidelines, on the Quick Buttons panel, hover over Care Guidelines Items Due.The Care Guidelines Items Due table appears displaying the last calculated date and a list of recently ordered Care Guidelines items for the patient that are due and overdue. Filter Selected Guidelines in the Active Guidelines Grid

You can filter selected active care guidelines of a patient in the Active Guidelines panel. There are several ways to filter and display only selected guidelines in the Active Guidelines panel grid. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. In the Active Guidelines panel, to display only items due within a specific time period, select the Due within check box and then select the number of days, weeks, or months from the Show only items due within window. Activate Guidelines To display items for a selected guideline: Select the Display only selected guideline check box. Select the Condition from the list. Note: The grid do not display any items of a selected guideline that has not been activated for the patient. Information Displayed in the Care Guidelines Panel

You can view and edit the information displayed in the Care Guidelines panel. NextGen Healthcare recommends you to be familiar with the Care Guidelines panel on the Care Guidelines Paged View template for ease of use. Care Guidelines Paged View Active guidelines listed in the patient guidelines section: Patient's Guidelines section in the left pane lists all care guidelines that are currently being followed for the patient. Also called active guidelines. Badges next to each active guideline display the number of items for that guideline that are due. An item can belong to more than one care guideline. For guideline items listed in the panel: Orderable items have a check box. You must select the check box to place an order for the item. The Place Order button remains disabled until you select a check box. Care Guidelines Paged View Recommended Care items do not have a check box. Instead, they have Goals.
