Set Up HPIs to Appear in the Reason for Visit

You can set up the History of Present Illness (HPI) to appear in the reason for visit.

A practice can configure the Reason for Visit panel using the Framework Content system template. For more information on the reason for visit configuration, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Framework Content System Template forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template.
    The Select Template window opens.
  3. In the Show section, select All.
  4. To open the Framework Content template, double-click Framework Content.
  5. Select Specialty and select a specialty from the list.
  6. Expand the Reason for Visit panel.
  7. In Filter, select the all option.
  8. Select the reason for visit linked to the appropriate History of Present Illness (HPI), which you want to add to the all list in the Reason for Visit list.
  9. Select OK.
  10. To indicate that the selected reason applies to all genders, select All from the list or select a specific gender.
  11. Select Add.
    The added reason for visit is included in the data grid.
  12. Select Save.
    The selected reason for visit appears on the Reason for Visit template opened from the Additional / Manage link on the Intake template.
