Add Reasons for Visits

You can add HPIs as the reasons for a patient's visit.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. On the Intake template, in the Reason for Visit panel, select Do not launch HPI.
  3. To select the appropriate complaint, do one of the following:
    • Select a link from the left pane in the Reason for Visit panel.
    • Select Additional / Manage to choose maximum six reasons from the resulting template.
      • To save the duplicate and continue with the existing workflow, select Yes.
      • To avoid the selection and select a different complaint, select No.
    • Enter the first letter or first few letters of the chief complaint in the Other field, and then select the drop-down arrow, and select a chief complaint from the resulting list.
  4. Select Add.
    The selected complaints appear in the Reason for Visit column.

  5. To enter your comments on the Intake note document, select the Intake Comments link.
