Add Reasons for Visits
You can add HPIs as the reasons for a patient's visit.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- On the Intake template, in the Reason for Visit panel, select Do not launch HPI.
Note: You can configure the Do not launch HPI check box on the Practice Configuration template. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Practice Configuration Template User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine.
- To select the appropriate complaint, do one of the following:
- Select a link from the left pane in the Reason for Visit panel.
- Select Additional / Manage to choose maximum six reasons from the resulting template.
Note: If the selected reason is a duplicate, a message appears highlighting the duplication. You can retain or remove the duplicate reason for visit. You can do one of the following:
- To save the duplicate and continue with the existing workflow, select Yes.
- To avoid the selection and select a different complaint, select No.
- Enter the first letter or first few letters of the chief complaint in the Other field, and then select the drop-down arrow, and select a chief complaint from the resulting list.
Note: You can view a list of specialty-specific complaints.Note: If the grid already includes six complaints, you cannot add additional reasons from the Other field. A message appears if there is a duplicate complaint.
- Select Add.
The selected complaints appear in the Reason for Visit column.
- To enter your comments on the Intake note document, select the Intake Comments link.
