Configure Order Test Codes

In the File Maintenance application, Navigate to Master Files > System > EHR. Under EHR Master Files - System, click Order Tests. Click the Open Menu and select New. Create a new test for the following CPT codes under Reserved_1 in the System field: Colonoscopy, Surgical 45355 Sigmoidoscopy, diagnostic 45330 Click Close. To configure test codes for 45330 and 43235 to the order tests created above, click Order NextGen Test Compendium. Bypass the Orders Module for Lab and Radiology Orders

You can set up the Bypass Order Module Processing option to insert lab and diagnostic orders directly into the Orders module based on the selected vendor for orders placed from the following templates in the My Plan template set: My Custom Plan Lab Master OBGYN Lab Master- Labs tab for an Obstetrics or Gynecology specialty encounter Diagnostics From the File menu, select System/Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Click the Practice tab. Under Show, select All. Search for and double-click My Custom Plan Setup. In the General Configuration panel, select the Bypass Order Module Processing check box. My Plan Config Click Save in the NextGen® Enterprise top toolbar. Documenting Diagnostic Studies

You can place or manage orders for diagnostic studies on the Diagnostic Studies template in the My Plan tabbed template set. Access the Diagnostic Studies Template You can open the Diagnostic Studies template from the SOAP or Intake tab. Bypassing Orders Module Processing

If your practice has configured Bypass Order Module Processing on the My Custom Plan Setup template, you can avoid processing an order through the Orders module using the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. When you click Place Order, the application updates the item in all order grids on NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Framework templates. You can see orders that were placed on any of the lab templates that were opened from the Labs tab in the Pending Orders section. The following steps outline the steps you need to submit ophthalmic tests to the Order module using CPT4 codes. Place Orders with My Plan

On the My Plan template, highlight an assessment in the upper left of the template in the Today's Assessments grid. Select the check boxes corresponding to items to be ordered. To select an order item not displayed: Click the down-arrow of an available field in the appropriate order type section to open a list of all items available in the system for that order type. Locate the item you want to order in the list, highlight it and click OK. The selected item appears in the field. Select the check box corresponding to the item to order it. Click Place Order.When you place orders for labs and radiology diagnostic studies, you or someone from your office must process and submit them to the Order module. Click the Lab/Diagnostics/Radiology Order Module Processing link found in the lower right corner of the template to launch the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template.
