Bypassing Orders Module Processing

If your practice has configured Bypass Order Module Processing on the My Custom Plan Setup template, you can avoid processing an order through the Orders module using the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. When you click Place Order, the application updates the item in all order grids on NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine Framework templates. You can see orders that were placed on any of the lab templates that were opened from the Labs tab in the Pending Orders section. Override Default Vendors for Lab and Radiology Orders

With the option to Bypass Order Module Processing turned on, you can change the lab and radiology vendors from preset defaults on the My Plan panel. On the My Custom Plan template, click the Lab Vendor field to select a vendor from the list. In the Billing Type, click to select a value from the list. Click the Priority to enter an item from the Priority of order list. You can select Quest/Lab Corp PSC Hold and the Quest/Lab Corp PSC Hold check box. In the Radiology Vendor field, click to select a vendor from the list. Click the Billing Type field to select a value from the list. Prerequisites for Bypass Orders Module Processing

With Bypass Order Module Processing enabled, orders placed on the Diagnostics tab are sent to a stored procedure, hold table to be placed in all Framework template order grids when you place an order. The prerequisites for using this feature are the following: The NextGen Compendium must be downloaded to the database to set up a Radiology Vendor and Test CPT codes for testing. Place Orders with My Plan

On the My Plan template, highlight an assessment in the upper left of the template in the Today's Assessments grid. Select the check boxes corresponding to items to be ordered. To select an order item not displayed: Click the down-arrow of an available field in the appropriate order type section to open a list of all items available in the system for that order type. Locate the item you want to order in the list, highlight it and click OK. The selected item appears in the field. Select the check box corresponding to the item to order it. Click Place Order.When you place orders for labs and radiology diagnostic studies, you or someone from your office must process and submit them to the Order module. Click the Lab/Diagnostics/Radiology Order Module Processing link found in the lower right corner of the template to launch the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. Add Orders in the Order Management Template

Click the Order Management link to launch the Order Management template. The system selects the All Orders option by default to display all of the orders placed in the current encounter. If orders are not available in the grid, click Add to launch the My Plan template. Note: If you select the Launch My Custom Plan (ord_my_custom_plan) check box on the Practice Configuration practice template, then the My Custom Plan template launches.
