Include Predefined Text in Encounter Documents Include Predefined Text in Encounter Documents You can use the client configurable check boxes on the Intake, SOAP, and Pediatric SOAP templates. The NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine package includes client-configurable check boxes to include predefined text while generating documentation. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For a patient encounter, open a template. For example, Intake. In the Navigation bar, select the Configurable Checkboxes link. The Configurable Checkboxes template opens. Configurable Checkboxes Select a record from the grid. The Template and Panel Name fields are updated automatically. Note: When you hover over the selected item in the grid, the documented predefined text is displayed. A tick mark in the Documented column indicates that the check box is already selected and the predefined text is included in the document. Note: If configured, the custom label of the check box appears in place of Check Box and in the Checkbo

Configure Client Check Boxes

You can document the custom phrase and label for client check boxes. You can configure the customizable client check boxes for the Intake, SOAP, and Pediatric SOAP templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content template. Select a specialty from the list. Click the Client CheckBox Configuration panel. To select a template name and a card name, do one of the following: Select the Template and Card Name from the list. In the grid, select a row of template and card names to configure. Note: The Card Name field refers to a specific panel of the applicable templates. For example, Reason for Visit and Vital Signs are specific panels on the Intake, SOAP, and Pediatric SOAP templates. The data in the text fields is automatically filled. In CheckBox Caption, enter the label for the check box. In Document Text, enter the custom phrase. To make the client check box visible on the applicable templates, clear the Hide check box. To sort the order of the check boxes, click Sort O

Configuring Check Boxes

You can configure the client check boxes to document any custom data. You can configure up to three check boxes for each panel on the Framework Content template. You can modify the order of the check boxes, hide or show the check boxes, add labels in CheckBox Caption, and add text in Document Text for each of the check boxes. You must first configure the check boxes and clear the Hide check box to use them on the templates. Note: You must remember the template and card names when configuring the client check boxes. You can update the custom phrase and label of the client check boxes on the Framework Content template. You can modify the client check boxes to use on the Intake, SOAP, and Pediatric SOAP templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content template. Select a specialty from the list. Click the Client CheckBox Configuration panel. Select a row in the grid. The text fields get filled with the corresponding information. Modify the details in CheckBox Caption or Document Text. To review the Hide check box status, do one of the following: To hide the client check boxes, select the Hide check box. Documenting Patients' General Information

You can document a patient's general information on the Intake template. General panel on Intake You can specify whether the patient is new or established for the current encounter in the General panel on the Intake template. If encounters exist for the patient, the Established patient option is automatically selected. When someone provides details on-behalf of patient, you can document the historian details in the Historian field. When someone interprets communication on-behalf of patient, you can select the Interpreter Details link to document the details of the interpreter. You can select the Configurable Questionnaires link to document the screening details of the patient. You can select the Transitioning into Care link to document the summary of care record details for a patient. You can select the Family planning encounter and Disability check boxes if an encounter is a family planning encounter and describes any disability, respectively. Patient's General Information

The General panel, on the Intake template displays if the encounter is for a new or established patient. The Established patient option is selected by default if the patient has previous encounters. You can document the person providing the patient information in the Historian field. When someone else interprets the patient’s communication, you can use the Interpreter Details link to document the details for Interpreter Details category. You can use the Configurable Questionnaires link to document the details for categories available in the Selected Category picklist. The Transitioning into Care link opens the Transitioning Into Care template that captures electronic Summary of Care requests and/or receipts that are completed electronically and document the information as reportable fields on the template.
