Framework Content Template

The Framework Content system template enables you to customize various elements of navigation and configure the content for certain panels at the specialty, practice, and provider levels. Though NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine contains default configurations on the Framework Content system template, you can set up configurations at the practice and provider levels. Since the application is delivered with the default setup for each specialty, it is acceptable to select only a specialty on the system template. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you apply the configurations at the specialty level. You must avoid or limit the use of provider-based configurations, because it is difficult to maintain a large number of setups. This is particularly important for users with a large number of providers. However, NextGen Healthcare recommends that provider-level configurations be used for providers of specialties not represented in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. For example, Endocrinolo

Configuration of Panels

You can configure panels using the Framework Content system template. You can configure the following panels on the Framework Content system template. Configuration of Custom Visit Type

You can configure a new visit type required by a practice, and manage these custom visit types using the Visit Type Configuration window. To add a new visit type, you must map an existing visit type and the associated Evaluation and Management billing code with the new visit type. Based on your practice preference, you can map a specialty and the required templates to display on run-time with the configured visit type using the Framework Content system template. The selected specialty and the run-time visit type details are displayed on the generated documents. Access the Visit Type Configuration Window You can access the Visit Type Configuration window from the Framework Content system template. Configuration of Tabs and Links

You can configure the tabs and links in the sub-navigation and tabs sections. You can find the Framework Content links below the navigation tabs on the Framework template set. These are convenient, customizable links that you can configure to open frequently used templates. The defaults for the Framework Template links vary depending on the specialty, visit type, and tab. Tabs and Subnavigation You can use the Tabs section of the Framework Content system template to add, delete or modify the tabs for a specialty and any of its visit types. You can add several visit types for a particular specialty and configure the tabs for each specialty-visit type combination. Configure the Framework Template Tabs You can configure the framework template tabs from the Tabs section. Manage the Framework Template Tabs You can update or delete the framework template tabs from the Tab section. Modify Client Check Boxes

You can update the custom phrase and label of the client check boxes on the Framework Content template. You can modify the client check boxes to use on the Intake, SOAP, and Pediatric SOAP templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content template. Select a specialty from the list. Click the Client CheckBox Configuration panel. Select a row in the grid. The text fields get filled with the corresponding information. Modify the details in CheckBox Caption or Document Text. To review the Hide check box status, do one of the following: To hide the client check boxes, select the Hide check box. Configure Client Check Boxes

You can document the custom phrase and label for client check boxes. You can configure the customizable client check boxes for the Intake, SOAP, and Pediatric SOAP templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content template. Select a specialty from the list. Click the Client CheckBox Configuration panel. To select a template name and a card name, do one of the following: Select the Template and Card Name from the list. In the grid, select a row of template and card names to configure. Note: The Card Name field refers to a specific panel of the applicable templates. For example, Reason for Visit and Vital Signs are specific panels on the Intake, SOAP, and Pediatric SOAP templates. The data in the text fields is automatically filled. In CheckBox Caption, enter the label for the check box. In Document Text, enter the custom phrase. To make the client check box visible on the applicable templates, clear the Hide check box. To sort the order of the check boxes, click Sort O
