Framework Content Template

The Framework Content system template enables you to customize various elements of navigation and configure the content for certain panels at the specialty, practice, and provider levels. Though NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine contains default configurations on the Framework Content system template, you can set up configurations at the practice and provider levels. Since the application is delivered with the default setup for each specialty, it is acceptable to select only a specialty on the system template. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you apply the configurations at the specialty level. You must avoid or limit the use of provider-based configurations, because it is difficult to maintain a large number of setups. This is particularly important for users with a large number of providers. However, NextGen Healthcare recommends that provider-level configurations be used for providers of specialties not represented in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. For example, Endocrinolo

Configuration of Custom Visit Type

You can configure a new visit type required by a practice, and manage these custom visit types using the Visit Type Configuration window. To add a new visit type, you must map an existing visit type and the associated Evaluation and Management billing code with the new visit type. Based on your practice preference, you can map a specialty and the required templates to display on run-time with the configured visit type using the Framework Content system template. The selected specialty and the run-time visit type details are displayed on the generated documents. Modify the Framework Template Links

You can modify the links in the Framework Content template using the sub-navigation section. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Tabs and Subnavigation panel. In the Sub Navigation section, select a row in the grid. The Caption and Template names in each Sub Nav section appear. Make the changes in the Caption and Template fields. To update a link, click Update. To delete a link, click Delete. Configure the Framework Template Tabs

You can configure the framework template tabs from the Tabs section. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Framework Content system template. Click the Tabs and Subnavigation panel. In the Tabs section, to select a visit type from the list, and click the Visit Type field. The Visit Type is based on the specialty that you select. The list includes only those visit types for which you have not configured the tabs. If the visit type is not in the list, select the visit type in the grid. Each visit type is configured to a range of Current Procedural Terminology ( CPT® ) codes which are used to calculate the Evaluation and Management (E&M) code on the Finalize template. Note: The Finalize template in Cardiology and Ophthalmology specialties calculates the codes differently, so you cannot add visit types for these specialties through this process.
