Document Point-of-Care Test

You can document a point-of-care tests of a patient. Before you begin If you order medications from the Office Services template, first run the Medications_NDCID_Notmapped Crystal Report to identify National Drug Codes (NDC) for medications that are not mapped. You can then map the medications to the NDC Library. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. In the Orders panel, select the Standing Orders link. The Office Services template opens. Office Services To select an order set, select the Display category field, and then select an option from the list. In the Orders grid, select an order. If you need to add assessment details, then add an assessment and an assessment code for the order. The Order and Procedure code fields get filled in the Diagnosis section. Associate Multiple Diagnoses with an Order

You can associate multiple diagnoses code with an order. Additional diagnoses codes can be associated with orders for diagnostic tests after the initial diagnosis and order are selected, before or after the order is placed, and before being processed. After an order is processed, you can only view the diagnoses associated with an order. Note: The Associate Diagnoses link appears on the ordering templates Diagnostic Studies, Diagnostic Studies - Order, and Office Services, and appears on templates used for updating and managing orders, such as the All Order Management template, when an order for a diagnostic test is selected from the Orders grid on the template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Associate Diagnoses link. The Associate Multiple Diagnoses to Orders template opens. Note: If the order for the diagnostic study is selected but not yet placed, the selected order appears in the gray read-only Order field. Document an Order in the Orders Panel

The Orders panel includes the ability to view, process, manage, add, edit or remove an order. You can also access Immunizations, Standing Orders, and the Task functionality. Orders panel By default the View of All Orders link is selected. The other options to view are Labs, Diagnostics, Office Services, Immunizations, Procedures, Guidelines, and Referrals. This would not commonly be used during an initial prenatal visit. In the Orders panel, click Add to access the My Plan template. My Plan template Click the Assessments, My Plan, A/P Details, Labs, Diagnostics, Referrals, Office Procedures, and Review/Cosign Orders tabs to enter the required information. Office Services

You can place orders and document the test results for a patient using Office Services template. The Office Services template is used to place orders and document the results of office tests that have been configured as standing orders that are performed routinely by the nurse that come with certain conditions. This template is also used by providers to order, result, and bill in-office tests they perform. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. In the Care Guidelines panel, select the Grid View link. The Care Guidelines grid view template opens. In the Recent Orders panel, select the Standing Orders link. The Office Services template opens. A list of available standing orders for the practice appear in the Orders grid. Document Information in the OB Flowsheet

You can document the vital signs of the patient on the OB Flowsheet template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . The Select Template window opens. Open the Intake template. Select the Specialty as Obstetrics and Visit Type as OB Prenatal. Select Prenatal Detail. The Prenatal Detail template opens. In the Prenatal Visits panel, select Add. The OB Flowsheet template opens. The gravidity, parity, estimated gestational age, blood type and Rh, and risk level become available if the information was already entered in the templates. When the OB flowsheet opens, the weight, blood pressure, pain level, and urine dipstick results appear if the details are entered on the Intake tab. Select the appropriate entries. Enter the weight of the patient in the Weight (lbs) field within the 4.409 – 1543.2 lb range. Place an Order for an Orderable Guideline Item

You can place an order for an orderable guideline using the Care Guidelines panel. Orderable guideline items that are due, display the date in red font in the Next Due field. A yellow alert icon appears to the left of the date. The Status field appears as due. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens. Expand the Care Guidelines panel. Review orderable guideline items active for the patient. Items that are due or past due display the date in red font. Items that are due in the future display a date in black font. When you first activate a care guideline, items that are not due at a future date automatically display today’s date by default. To sort guideline items by next due date, you can select the active text Next Due column header. Select the check box to the left of the guideline items you want to order.
