Document Information in the OB Flowsheet

You can document the vital signs of the patient on the OB Flowsheet template.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter.
  3. On Top Toolbar, select Templates .
    The Select Template window opens.
  4. Open the Intake template.
  5. Select the Specialty as Obstetrics and Visit Type as OB Prenatal.
  6. Select Prenatal Detail.
    The Prenatal Detail template opens.
  7. In the Prenatal Visits panel, select Add.
    The OB Flowsheet template opens. The gravidity, parity, estimated gestational age, blood type and Rh, and risk level become available if the information was already entered in the templates.

    When the OB flowsheet opens, the weight, blood pressure, pain level, and urine dipstick results appear if the details are entered on the Intake tab.

  8. Select the appropriate entries.
  9. Enter the weight of the patient in the Weight (lbs) field within the 4.409 – 1543.2 lb range.
  10. In the Blood pressure fields, enter the systolic and diastolic blood pressure reading within the 0 – 399 range.
  11. Enter the height of the patient in the Height (in) field within the 12 – 119.88 in range.
  12. Document the pain level.
  13. Enter a note for the visit in the Progress Note field or use My Phrases.
  14. Enter the details of follow-up visits in the Return Appointment section .
  15. Select Save in the Return Appointment section to save the appointment.
    The information is cleared and additional follow-up appointments can be entered.
  16. If this is a multiple gestation pregnancy, select the Multiple Gestation link.
    The OB MultiGestation template opens.

  17. Specify or enter the necessary information, and then select Save & Close to return to the OB Flowsheet template.
  18. Select Close.
