Orders

You can add and manage the orders for a patient. You can view, process, manage, add, and place a follow-up order from the Orders panel. It also includes links to process lab and radiology orders, open the Order Management template, open the Immunizations template, access standing orders on the Office Services template, create tasks on the To Do template, and document the education provided to a patient. Orders Panel The View All Orders link is selected by default. The other options to view include Labs, Diagnostics, Office Services, Immunizations Today, Surgical Procedures, Referrals, and Patient Education. You can select a row in the grid and select Edit to open the Orders Edit template, and update the order details. The Education material provided section enables you to provide patient education documents and indicate if they are provided in the patient's preferred language and FDA approved. Intake Template

You can use the Intake template to document the patient information. You can document the following details of the patient in the various sections of the Intake template: General information of the patient Reason for the patient's to visit Patient's history Patient's Assessments Patient Medications Patient's allergies Vital Signs Patient's Orders Review of systems Patient Education Start a Dermatology Encounter Patient's General Information You can document a patient's general information on the Intake template. Add a Reason for Visit You can document the History of Present Illness (HPI), problems, as the reason for a patient visit. Patient's History Summary Patient's Assessment You can view patient's assessments. Patient Medication You can document and manage a patient's medications. Intake Template

In the Intake template, after selecting the Obstetrics specialty and the OB Prenatal Initial visit type, to document the patient information for the OB Prenatal Initial workflow, you can: View the alerts Record vital signs Document medications Document allergies Document a urine dipstick result Perform a depression check, if desired you may also use links to access additional templates, as needed: Standing Orders Adult Immunizations Peds Immunizations My Plan Procedures Order Management Update Lab Results Note: You can customize the links for the practice and associate them with a particular template so that different links can appear on different templates, if desired. Order a Urine Dipstick

The Standing Orders link above the Orders grid is commonly used to document the urine dipstick result on prenatal visits. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. Select the Standing Orders link. The Office Services template opens. Select the Display category field and then select an order set from the list. From the Orders grid, select an order. Select a diagnosis for the order. Note: The practice can preset a pregnancy diagnosis for the urine dipstick in the Office Diagnostics practice template. The following example shows the diagnosis for the Urinalysis, non-automated, w/o scope order. Office Services In the Results/Report section, select the Details link. Results/Report section The Urine Dipstick template opens. Urine Dipstick Enter as much information as needed, and then select OK. OB Intake Staff Workflow

The intake staff workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake, Gestational Age, Histories, and Education templates. The information documented by the intake staff is reviewed by the provider. When you access the Intake template, select Obstetrics and OB Prenatal Initial from the Specialty and Visit Type fields to display the Initial Prenatal template set. OB Intake tab The Intake template includes various links to add more information about the patient. Review of Obstetrics Details by Intake Staff The intake staff can review the patient's details documented during the previous encounters. Document Point-of-Care Test

You can document a point-of-care tests of a patient. Before you begin If you order medications from the Office Services template, first run the Medications_NDCID_Notmapped Crystal Report to identify National Drug Codes (NDC) for medications that are not mapped. You can then map the medications to the NDC Library. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. In the Orders panel, select the Standing Orders link. The Office Services template opens. Office Services To select an order set, select the Display category field, and then select an option from the list. In the Orders grid, select an order. If you need to add assessment details, then add an assessment and an assessment code for the order. The Order and Procedure code fields get filled in the Diagnosis section.
