Document Medications Module

The Medications module enables you to prescribe, print, fax, and e-prescribe (requires enrollment) patient medications. In the Interview Questions panel, click the Medications link. The Medication Module window opens. Click Prescribe New. The Medication Search window opens. In Find, enter the partial or full name of the medication to be prescribed to the patient and click Search. A list of medications matching the search criteria appears in the left pane. Select a medicine from the list and click Select to return to the Medications module. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date from the corresponding list. If this medication is prescribed elsewhere, select the Prescribed elsewhere check box and enter the source in the Source field. Click Accept. Close Medication Module window. Open the Medication Allergies Module

You can open the Medication Allergies module and acknowledge drug interactions. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select or create an encounter from the Encounter History tab. To open the Medication Allergies module, select Allergies from the Quick Buttons panel. View a Specific Patient Medication Allergy

Open the Medication Allergies module. Select an allergy. The allergy information appears in the fields in the bottom half of the window. To customize the sort order of the columns displayed in the Medication Allergies module, select a column you want to move and drag it to the desired position. Access External Provider Reference from the Medication Allergies Module

You can access the External Provider Reference resource and search for additional information regarding the selected medication allergy from the Medication Allergies module. Open the Medication Allergies module for a patient. Enter a new allergy, if required. Right-click the allergy and then select Resources > External Provider Reference. Open the Clinical Reconciliation Module

You can Open the Clinical Reconciliation module from the Medication Allergies module.In the Clinical Reconciliation module, you can reconcile a patient's medications and medication allergies, create a reconciliation summary, and view a patient's reconciliation history. Open the Medication Allergies module. Select Reconcile. The Clinical Reconciliation module opens. Medication Allergies Module

The Medication Allergies module helps you to identify the potential for adverse drug reactions. Use this module to enter and retrieve any currently known adverse reaction to substances that may put the patient at risk if the patient exposed to similar substances in the future. Some food allergies like red dye or shellfish can be documented in this module, but a pollen allergy such as ragweed is a medical condition and would be better documented in the Problems module.
