Open the Medication Allergies Module

You can open the Medication Allergies module and acknowledge drug interactions. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select or create an encounter from the Encounter History tab. To open the Medication Allergies module, select Allergies from the Quick Buttons panel. Review Patient Medication Allergy

In compliance with the requirements of the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT), NextGen® Enterprise EHR supports review of patient's medication allergies. Open the Medication Allergies module. The Medication Allergies module displays the current review status for all listed medication allergies. Select Review. NextGen® Enterprise EHR displays the name of the person who reviewed all listed allergies and lists the date and time of the most current allergy review. Parent topic: Medication Allergies Module

View Who Changed a Medication Allergy

Each time someone creates or modifies a patient's medication allergies, the application records who made the change and when it was done. You can view who created and last modified a patient's medication allergies. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History tab or create an encounter. To open the Medication Allergies module, select Allergies from the Quick Buttons panel. The Medication Allergies module opens and displays the items that the patient is allergic to. Medication Allergies Module Select a medication allergy. Right-click the medication allergy and select Who/When.The Modification Information window displays with the name of the person who entered the allergy into the patient chart, and the name of the person who last modified the selected allergy. View Deleted Medication Allergy

Open the Clinical Reconciliation Module

You can Open the Clinical Reconciliation module from the Medication Allergies module.In the Clinical Reconciliation module, you can reconcile a patient's medications and medication allergies, create a reconciliation summary, and view a patient's reconciliation history. Open the Medication Allergies module. Select Reconcile. The Clinical Reconciliation module opens. Update Medication Allergy

You can update a medication allergy in the patient's chart. If the encounter is locked, you do not have to unlock the encounter or create a duplicate allergy entry. If the encounter is locked, you can update the Intolerance, Criticality, Severity, Reactions, Add Additional Reaction, Onset of Symptoms Date, Resolved Date, and Allergy Comments fields. The following buttons are enabled: Update, Interactions, and Reconcile. Open the Medication Allergies module. Select an allergy. Enter the changes to the available information. Select Update.
