Intake Staff Workflow

The intake staff can use the Intake template to document a patient's chief complaint, vital signs, medications, allergies, standing orders, and various other findings. The intake staff workflow involves documenting the patient encounter on the Intake and Histories templates. The information documented by the intake staff is used by the provider for reference and to proceed with the encounter. Open the Home Page Template You can obtain the patient summary on the Home Page template. Overview of the Histories Template

You can add, update, delete, and review a patient's history summary details. You can document a patient's social history, problem list, medical or surgical history, diagnostic study history, and family history on the Histories template. Patient's Problem List You can manage a patient's problems. Patient's Medical History The Medical/Surgical/Interim panel enables you to document the medical or surgical history of the patient. Patient's Social History You can document a patient's social history. Patient's Family History You can document the family history of the patient in the Family panel on the Histories template. Patient's Diagnostic Tests and Results You can document a patient's diagnostic tests and the associated results. Document the History Review You can document the review details of a patient's history in the generated encounter document. Viewing Template Links on the Home Page Template

On the Home Page template, you can view and open links to other templates based on the selected specialty. The recommended workflow for a patient encounter is to begin on the Home Page template. If you set up the Home Page template as the default, then the same template automatically opens as the first template for an encounter. You can also open the generic Home Page template from the Templates module. You can review and document the summary of a patient's problems, history, allergies, medications, vital signs, orders, and so on, on the Home Page template.
