Basic Configuration and Setup Procedures

You can configure the settings and setup procedures for your dental practice using the Configuration Home template. Using the Configuration Home template, you can set the template preferences, add the desired links on templates, configure task recipients, customize the reasons for visit, and so on. Top Toolbar

The NextGen® Enterprise EHR Top Toolbar consists of a location list, a provider list, and a set of buttons. You can customize the Top Toolbar with additional buttons. NextGen® Enterprise EHR Toolbar - Modify Own Operation

The EHR Toolbar-Modify Own Operations subgroup in the System Administrator application enables users to customize the NextGen® Enterprise EHR toolbars by: Adding or reordering the Top toolbar buttons. When the user right-clicks on the Top toolbar, the Customize menu item becomes enabled. Removing the module buttons in the Main toolbar. The Show module buttons check box becomes enabled on the Tools menu > Preferences > Main Toolbar tab. When users log out or exit NextGen® Enterprise EHR, their current settings are saved under the current practice for the user ID. When the right is set to No, users can only modify the button image and text. When they exit, these options save to Ngconfig.ini file. Some ways to use this right: Give all users the right to modify their own toolbars. Give a user with administrative privileges the rights to modify the toolbars and set the default for others. Standard Top Toolbar Buttons

The following table lists standard buttons and their description. Button Description Logout Logs you off, but does not close the application. Save Saves your work in the active window. Clear Clears the data you have entered in the active window. Delete Deletes the data you have entered in the active window. Patient Opens the Patient Lookup window. Edit Toggles between the Review and Edit Patient modes if you are using this feature. PAQ Opens the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). PM Opens NextGen NextGen® Enterprise PM for the current patient. DM Opens NextGen® Document Management for the current patient. Manage User-Level Configurations of Quick Buttons

Before you begin Ensure that you have the necessary user-level permissions to view and modify buttons on the Quick Buttons panel. You can show or hide buttons on the Quick Buttons panel and also re-arrange their sequence to your preference. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On the Quick Buttons panel, select .The My Quick Button Settings window opens. To add a button to the Quick Buttons panel, select Select Buttons, select the button to add from the list, and then select Apply. To remove a button on the Quick Buttons panel, do one of the following: Select corresponding to the button to remove, and then select Apply. Select Select Buttons, clear the check box for the button to remove, and then select Apply. To change the order of the buttons, select and drag the buttons to the preferred location, and select Apply. To restore the practice preference settings, select Reset to Practice Settings.
