Create a Personalized Orderable Item
You can create a personalized orderable guideline item for a patient.
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template.
The Care Guidelines Paged View template opens.
- Expand the Care Guidelines panel and select the Add Orderable link.
The Personalized Reminder/Orderables template opens.
- In the Guideline field, select a test from a DB picklist of orderable guideline tests that are associated with a guideline on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template.
Note: If the tests are not displayed in this list, you can set up a generic guideline condition or reason on the Care Guidelines Setup practice template as a place holder, to which you can associate the additional tests you want to see in this list. You must not activate or apply this generic test holder guideline to a patient, but it allows the tests associated with it to be included in this list.

- The standard default time interval configured for the guideline test item appears in the Interval field.
- The standard values configured for Start age and Stop age appear in the corresponding Start age and Stop age fields.
- The high risk values, if configured for Start age and Stop age, appear in the corresponding Start age and Stop age fields.

- Select the Start age field on the left and select the age in Weeks, Months, or Years from the selection window when the guideline exam or test should perform and follow.
- If the patient’s age is less than the start age, the guideline exam or test appears as due in black font, even if the due date is far into the future.
- If no start age is set, the guideline exam or test is followed and appears as due in red font for all patients regardless of age.
- In the Current section, select the Stop age field, and select the age in Weeks, Months, or Years at which the guideline exam test should stop to follow.
- If the patient’s age reaches the stop age, the guideline exam or test is not followed and does not appear as due.
