Correct Patient Records with Corrected Guidelines

Your can correct the patient records with corrected guidelines exceeding the limit to determine the exceed length of the description. After you have corrected the guidelines with name or description text exceeding 75 characters, patients for whom those guidelines applied should be updated so that the corrected guideline is applied. The Guidelines exceeding limits report, lists the patient record that needs correction in the Guideline items exceeding more than 75 characters section. You can correct patient records on the Active Care Guidelines template, which can be accessed using the Care Guidelines templates. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the practice for which guideline data needs to be corrected. Generate the Guideline Exceeding Limit Report

Guidelines with Long Descriptions

You can manually correct the guidelines with descriptions longer than 75 characters. In NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, clients who have existing care guidelines orderable items (formerly protocols) with descriptions longer than 75 characters will notice that those care guidelines orderable descriptions appear truncated. This document provides instructions for correcting this issue. After upgrading to NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine review the Guideline Exceeding Limit SAP® Crystal Reports® generated report. Records listed in the Setup data exceeding more than 75 characters section of the report need to be manually corrected. Manually correcting guidelines that exceeded 75 characters is a two-step process: Correct the guideline name text so it is 75 characters or fewer. Add or Update a Test Description for an Intervention Equivalent

You can document a description of an intervention or a test for a patient's guideline. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel, and then in Intervention/Test Name, select a test. The File Maintenance Mappings grid displays the test code mappings to the selected test available in the NextGen test compendium. The Intervention Equivalents section shows all descriptions and codes currently in the system that are equivalent ways of identifying to the selected test. To add a intervention description equivalent, select Intervention description equivalent, and then select Add/Update. The new description appears in the grid. Update Intervention Code Equivalents

You can update a code equivalent for an intervention or a test for a patient's guideline. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel, and then select the code in the Intervention Code Equivalent grid. The code appears in the corresponding Intervention Code Equivalent field. Note: The Orderable checkbox is selected by default when the Orderable column displays Y for the test code. Make the necessary changes to the code. Optional: To change the orderable status for the test code, select or clear the Orderable checkbox. Select Add/Update. The updated code appears in the grid. Update Orderable Guideline Test Items

You can update an orderable test item of a patient using the Intervention/Orders Setup on the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Intervention/Orders Setup panel and then select the guideline or test item from the Orderable Tests Setup data grid. Details for the guideline or test item appear in the fields above the grid. These values can be modified. Note: If you select a different value for Reason type, all fields are reset. In Condition/Reason, select any from the list. In Guideline /Test type, select the order types from the list. In Guideline/Test name (required), enter the name.
