Correct Patient Records with Corrected Guidelines

Your can correct the patient records with corrected guidelines exceeding the limit to determine the exceed length of the description.

After you have corrected the guidelines with name or description text exceeding 75 characters, patients for whom those guidelines applied should be updated so that the corrected guideline is applied.

The Guidelines exceeding limits report, lists the patient record that needs correction in the Guideline items exceeding more than 75 characters section. You can correct patient records on the Active Care Guidelines template, which can be accessed using the Care Guidelines templates.

  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. Select the practice for which guideline data needs to be corrected. (Refer to the previously generated Guidelines exceeding limits report for a list of affected data for specific practices to determine the practice to select.)
  3. Open the required patient chart.
  4. Open the recent encounter for the patient.

  5. From the Encounter History tab, select a template listed for the encounter, such as the Home Page or Intake template.
  6. Select the Care Guidelines link to open the Care Guidelines template.
  7. In the Care Guidelines panel, select Add/Update to open the Activate Care Guidelines template.
  8. Expand the Restore/Remove Guidelines panel.

  9. In the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel select the guideline that has description exceeding 75 characters and select Remove.
  10. Select appropriate responses to acknowledge any alerts that appear.
    The removed guideline appears in the Remove/Restore Guidelines grid with the status of Removed.

  11. In the Active Guidelines section, in the Condition field, select the same guideline (which was previously corrected to not exceed 75 characters) removed in the previous step and select Add.
    For the health maintenance guideline, the gender-specific Risk Indicator template opens.
  12. Select Yes to re-apply the care guideline orderable.
    This re-applies the guideline removed for the patient in the previous step with the guideline and its corrected name.

  13. Repeat steps 2 – 11 for each patient and guideline listed for each practice in the Guideline items exceeding more than 75 characters section of the Guidelines exceeding limit report.
