Screening and Admission Visit Workflow

The BH - Screening/Admission Note template is used to document information that a program or Emergency Room might need for their initial evaluation of a client. Information gathered here is the basis for a summarization of the services and possible interventions that are initially provided to the client. Generally, this is completed by the non-clinical staff at the practice and can be done separately from a Comprehensive Assessment exam. The BH - Screening/Admission Note template can be accessed at any time during an encounter by selecting Other Templates from the bottom section of the navigation bar. Individual Visit Workflows for Behavioral Health

Individual visit workflows for Behavioral Health enable the documentation of assessment and treatment plans for the individual client and are associated with the following Visit Types: Home Visit Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation with Medical Services Psychotherapy - Individual Psychotherapy - Individual with E&M Virtual Visit Telephone Virtual Visit Video You can record new issues for the client on the Individualized Action Plan (IAP) template. The Comp Assess tab can be used to access the Treatment Recommendations/Assessed Needs panel. The IAP tab is used for the initial documentation of the client's goals, objectives and interventions for the assessed needs. Optimize Usage of Behavioral Health Templates

There is some setup involved to optimize usage of the Behavioral Health templates. In the Behavioral Health Configuration Options chapter, you learn that some of the setup is required and other parts are optional. The three main components required to successfully bill a Behavioral Health encounter are: Service code mapping Provider-level set up in two master files in File Maintenance Service Categories master file configuration There are optional settings on the Practice Configuration template that are specific to the Assessment/Diagnosis and Signatures panels. Other configurations that are not required apply to the Home Page – Behavioral Health template. The practice can elect to open the home page by default for every new encounter and can also decide which links appear on the Medical Chart Summary panel. Enter Assessment and Diagnosis Details

Expand the Assessment/Diagnosis panel. If enabled, click the DSM IV link in the upper, right corner to launch the BH – DSM IV template. Note: The display of the link is set up on the Behavioral Health section of the Practice Configuration system template. In the Behavioral Health Diagnoses section, select any of the available links. In the Diagnostic description required field, click to launch the diagnosis search window. Selecting a description value automatically populates the ICD Code field or vice versa. Add Status, Severity, Differential DX, and Impression. The out-of-the-box Severity picklist does not include Extreme or Persistent. These values can be added to the list in File Maintenance. Enter any required Specifiers by doing one of the following actions: Click the field to type a value. Click the My Phrases link to create a new sentence or part of a sentence.
