Add Bone Age Study and Results

You can document the bone age results on the Peds Bone Age Details template.

The Peds Bone Age Details template is used to document the bone age test result details on the Office Services template.

  1. To open the Diagnostic History Entry template and document the bone age study details, do one of the following:
    • On the Histories template, expand the Diagnostic Studies section and click Add.
    • In the History Summary panel on the Intake template, click Diagnostic and click Add/Edit.

  2. In the Study Type section, click the Diagnostic study type field and select X-Ray Upper extremity study type from the list.
  3. In the Study Performed section, click the Diagnostic study field and select X-RAYS FOR BONE AGE with the procedure code of 77072 from the list.
  4. If the study was completed somewhere else, select the Ordered elsewhere check box.
  5. To enter Side and Site information, click in the fields to select the applicable values.
  6. In the Study Date section, click the Date performed field and set the date. If the exact date is unknown, select the Approximated performed date check box.
  7. Click Specialty and select a specialty and in Performed by, enter the name of the person who performed the diagnostic study.
  8. Enter the Date Completed and in Location, enter location from where the diagnostic was done or select the location from the list.
  9. To document the bone age study result, do the following in the Study Result section:
    1. If you are providing a scanned report to the patient, select the See Scanned report check box.
    2. Enter the interpretation of the study.
    3. Click Details.
      The Peds Bone Age Detail template opens.

    4. Enter the bone age in years and months.
    5. Enter Read by.
    6. Enter specialty.
    7. Click Save & Close to close the Peds Bone Age Detail template.
  10. Click Add to Grid and then click OK.
