Add a New Reference System

The reference system is a way to organize the diagnosis groups (a logical grouping of related diagnosis codes). For example, Order Sets is a reference system that contains the groups that are used on custom impression plan. That template is coded to look at the Common Dx Framework reference system Order Sets (custom impression plan) to pull the groups and codes.

  1. Enter a reference system name in the Reference System field.
  2. If required, enter a description for the new system in the Description field.
  3. Select a Reference system set from the picklist (for orders sets only).

  4. Select the Restrict Code check box for code restrictions.
  5. Click the Add/Update button to save the new reference system.
    The reference system is added to the Reference System grid.
