Copy Diagnoses, Assessments, and Plans by Encounter

You can copy historical diagnoses, assessments, and narrative plans by the encounter. Before you begin You must enable the Show Copy All Diagnosis, Assessment/Plan checkbox in the Assessment section on the Practice Configuration practice template to copy the DAP details for the selected encounter. You can copy the diagnosis, assessment, and plan details for the selected encounter on the Copy Historical DAP template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Soap - Cardiology template. Click the Assessment/Plan panel. Click Copy Forward.The Copy Historical DAP template opens with the All DAP viewing option selected. Note: Plans with associated orders do not appear in the grid. Select the Encounter DAP option. Copy Historical DAP Previous three years encounter details appear in the grid. Copy Historical Diagnoses, Assessments, and Plans

You can copy historical diagnosis, assessment, and plan using the Copy Historical DAP template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Soap - Cardiology template. Click the Assessment/Plan panel. Click Copy Forward. The Copy Historical DAP template opens with the All DAP and the Diagnosis/Assessment/Plan options selected. Copy Historical DAP - All DAP Note: To prevent duplicate entries, diagnosis codes from the current encounter do not appear in the DAP History grid. Plans with orders do not appear in the grid and cannot be copied to the current encounter. Select the D (diagnosis) row associated with the DAP. The Copy Dx/AP button is enabled. Click Copy Dx/AP. CAUTION: It is possible to copy an expired ICD code from a previous encounter to the current encounter. Clients must review copied ICD codes and change the code to a valid ICD code, when applicable. You can copy historical diagnoses, assessments, and free text plans to the current encounter. You can copy previous three years diagnoses, assessments, and free text plans for the current encounter using the Copy Historical DAP template. Note: Plans with associated orders do not appear on the Copy Historical DAP template and cannot be copied to the current encounter. CAUTION: It is possible to copy an expired ICD code from a previous encounter to the current encounter. Clients must review the copied ICD codes and change the code to a valid ICD code, when applicable. You have two viewing options for the patient’s historical diagnosis, assessment, and plan (DAP) information on the Copy Historical DAP template. Encounter DAP Groups the historical DAP information by the encounter. All DAP Displays the default view of all historical diagnosis, assessment, and free text plan details. You have the following options to copy the diagnosis: Diagnosis Only Enables you to only copy the diagnosis.

You can copy only the historical diagnoses to the current encounter on the Copy Historical DAP template. Configuring Setup for the Cardiology Specialty

You need to configure the following Cardiology specific settings before using the application. Appointment locations Diagnosis assessments and status Diagnosis assessments and Plans Visit types Patient education Security groups Some basic configurations, such as reasons for visit, navigational links, and navigation bar are common across all specialties. Open System or Practice Template You can configure the templates related to the system and practice category using the system or practice template. Configure Appointment Locations You can add appointment locations that are outside your practice by location type, such as office, hospital, testing, and lab. Copy Assessments from Previous Encounters

You can copy assessments from previous encounters of a patient to the current encounter instead of manually adding them. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the SOAP template, and then expand the Assessment/Plan panel. Select Dx/AP History.The Assessment, Diagnosis Copy Forward window opens. Note: By default, the All Assessments option is selected and records are displayed for the default duration configured in the Copy Previous Visit Information section of the Practice Configuration template. To copy assessments from a specific encounter, select Encounter Assessments. To filter the records in the grid, enter the search criteria in Filter by, and then select Search. Note: If the records are displayed from any sensitive encounter, an asterisk (*) appears on the record in the Sensitive column to help you decide whether to copy such records and update the current encounter as sensitive.
