Implantable Device Cardiac Observation (IDCO)

The configuration in the IDCO section applies to the Cardiology specialty. IDCO section The standard IDCO interface is used to capture interrogation data from the interrogated implantable cardiac device. The interrogation data is then imported to NextGen® Enterprise through NextGen® Clinical Message Manager. Setting Up to Place Orders Directly from the Order Module

You can set up the place orders for guideline of the patient from the Order module. You can directly place orders for lab and radiology guideline items from the Order module by selecting the Enable Order Module setting in the Orders/Plans section of the Practice Configuration practice template. Selecting the Enable Order Module setting configures the Care Guidelines Paged View template to open the Order module whenever the checkbox for a guideline orderable item is selected. You can then place orders for the guideline item from the Order module. When you save the changes, the Order module closes and returns to the workflow on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. The status of the guideline item is updated to ordered and the date ordered displays below the Status field. Add Cardiac Device Information

You can search for the cardiac implantable devices and add implantable device information. Before you begin Select the Manual Entry checkbox in the Device - Card template for the Device/Lead Info link to appear. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device.The Device - Card template opens. Select the appropriate diagnoses from DX1 and DX2.The diagnoses codes have been automatically entered next to the selected diagnosis. Device - Card Select Managing Dr, and select the provider. Select the Device/Lead Info link.The Implant Information - Device/Lead template opens. Note: The interface type of the implant has been automatically entered. Select the Device option. Document Interrogation Data

You can document the interrogation details of a device. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device.The Device - Card template opens. Select the Manual Entry checkbox. In the Interrogation Information section, click the Interrogation Data link.The Interrogation Data - Device template opens. Interrogation Data - Device In the Interrogation Data section, do the following: Enter the interrogation date, time, and underlying heart rhythm of the patient. Sort the Patient Discharge Instructions

The discharge instructions in the run-time Procedure Patient Discharge Instructions panel are in the same order as the procedure order in the grid on the Procedure Order & Discharge Instruction practice template. In the practice template, you can sort the discharge instructions in the grid as follows: To view discharge instructions configured for a specific specialty, click Specialty and then select a specialty from the list. Click the Patient Discharge Instructions option. (Optional) Select a Procedure and Category. The grid displays the pre-configured discharge instructions associated with the selected procedure and category. Set Up a Patient Implantable Device Trigger

You can set up a Patient Implantable Device trigger in Template Editor to map the patient's implantable device information between a template and the Implantable Device module. Open Template Editor. Open a template. Set up a general trigger. From the Action list, select Patient Implantable Device. The Implantable Device window opens. Select the information for the available fields. Select OK. Template Editor saves the trigger information and closes the Implantable Device window. Note: If necessary, set up a specific condition for the Patient Implantable Device action which you want to trigger. Select OK to save the template.
