Add Cardiac Device Information

You can search for the cardiac implantable devices and add implantable device information.

1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
2. In the left Navigation bar, click Device.
   The Device - Card template opens.
3. Select the appropriate diagnoses from DX1 and DX2.
   The diagnoses codes have been automatically entered next to the selected diagnosis.
   

4. Select Managing Dr, and select the provider.
5. Select the Device/Lead Info link.
   The Implant Information - Device/Lead template opens.

   Note: The interface type of the implant has been automatically entered.
6. Select the Device option.
   

7. Select the search icon . Search for and select the required implantable device.
   The Brand Name/Description, Manufacturer, and Model fields have been filled with the details of the selected implantable device.
8. Enter the device details as follows:
   1. Enter the serial number of the device.
   2. Enter the name of the implanting physician.
   3. Enter the contact number and facility of the implanter.
   4. Enter the date of implanting the device in the patient.
   5. Select the chamber location where the device was implanted.
   6. Select the location and status of the device.
   7. If the device was removed from the patient, enter the removal date.
9. Select Save & Close.
   The device details appear in the Device Information grid and in the Implantable Devices section in the Procedure module.
