Open NextGen® Enterprise PM.
On the main toolbar, select
Chart
, and then in
Patient Lookup
, enter your search criteria, and then select
Find
.
Matching people and patient records appear in the search results.
In
Matching Records
, select a patient record
, and then select
Open
.
The
Patient Information
tab opens in the
Patient Chart
window.
Select the
Chart Details
tab, select the open menu
icon next to patients profile picture, select
New
.
You can add your patient photo from the
Update Patient Information
window by right-clicking on the picture placeholder, and then selecting
New
.
In the
Scanning Device Input
window, select the open menu
icon.
To scan an image from a physical photograph, place the patient's photo on the scanner, select
Acquire
, and then select
Ok
.
You can crop, delete, copy, and print the scanned images.
The image appears Patient Information Bar.
To take a digital image, select
Capture
, adjust the preview, if needed, select
Capture
, and then select
Ok
.

Open Previous Patient Charts
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. In Matching Records, select a patient record , and then select Open. The Patient Information tab opens in the Patient Chart window. On Patient Information Bar, select the open menu icon next to the patient name, select Access Previous Patient, and then select the necessary patient. The selected patient chart opens. Optional: To set the patient account as active, on Patient Information Bar, select the open menu icon next to the patient name, and then select Set Active Patient. Print Patient Photos
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup Chart Lookup icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. In the Chart Details tab, select open menu Open Menu icon and then select Open. The Scanning Device Input window opens. Add Patient Photos to Charts
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup Chart Lookup icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. In the Chart Details tab, under Patient Picture, select open menu Open Menu icon and then select New to scan a new photograph, or Open to edit the current photograph. Create a Patient Chart
In NextGen® Enterprise PM, people with an existing appointment, an account guarantor, an insurance subscriber, and an emergency contact are considered to be persons. When you create a chart, the person becomes a patient in your practice, and the patient chart is available only to your practice. However, if the patient is linked to multiple practices, a common patient demographic record is shared across the practices. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart, and then in Patient Lookup, enter your search criteria, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. To avoid creating a duplicate record, enter different search criteria combinations, and then select Find.If your practice uses phonetic search, you can select the option to include patients with similar names in the search results. Scan an Image to Add to the Patient Chart
Before you begin Ensure that you have access to a scanner and have scanning software on the workstation. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter. To open the Images module, do one of the following: On the Top Toolbar, select the Images icon. On the main menu, select File > New > Image. The Open Image File window opens. Select either the Scan One or Scan All button.The Select Source window opens. Select the scanner name, and select Select.The Imaging module and your scanner's software window opens. To scan the image, follow the on-screen instructions on scanner window.After completion of scanning , the image appears in the Imaging module.
