Scan an Image to Add to the Patient Chart

Before you begin

Ensure that you have access to a scanner and have scanning software on the workstation.
  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient.
  2. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter.
  3. To open the Images module, do one of the following:
    • On the Top Toolbar, select the Images icon.
    • On the main menu, select File > New > Image.
    The Open Image File window opens.
  4. Select either the Scan One or Scan All button.
    The Select Source window opens.

  5. Select the scanner name, and select Select.
    The Imaging module and your scanner's software window opens.
  6. To scan the image, follow the on-screen instructions on scanner window.
    After completion of scanning , the image appears in the Imaging module.
  7. Select Save.
    The scanned image added to the patient's chart.
