Set Active Patients

Set Active Patients Set Active Patients In NextGen® Enterprise PM, do the following to open the patient chart: Select Tasks > Lookup > Charts Use the search criteria and find the patient. Double-click the patient with indicator. The chart of the selected patient opens. Select open menu next to the patient's name on the patient's chart and then select Set Active Patient. The patient is set the current active patient. Note: The Active Patient indicator appears on the status bar on the NextGen® Enterprise PMdesktop. Opening the Active Patient Record Opening the Active Patient Record In NextGen® Enterprise PM, you can open the current active patient's records from the following windows: People Lookup Patient Lookup Appointment Lookup Add Appointment Edit Appointment Charge Posting Payment Entry To open the patient chart, you can double-click the Active Patient indicator located on the status bar on the NextGen® Enterprise PM desktop. The patient's chart displays details of the active patient. Open Active Person Records You can quickly open the currently active person record from the People Lookup window. Open Active Patient Records You can quickly open the patient record that is currently active from the Patient Lookup window. View Appointments for the Active Patient You can view the list of appointments set for the active patient record from the Appointment Lookup window. Set Active Patient Status for Patients

A patient set as the active patient remains in recall when you work with other patient charts and is available for quick access. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup Chart Lookup icon. The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Configuring Patient Synchronization in NextGen® Enterprise PM

Patient synchronization sets a patient as active in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and NextGen® Optical Management. When you set a patient as active in NextGen® Optical Management, the same patient is automatically set as an active patient in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM. For example, assume John Smith is the active patient and the chart for John Smith is currently open in NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Optical Management. When you access NextGen® Enterprise PM, the chart for John Smith automatically opens. You can do the following when you have patient synchronization set up in user preferences: Open a patient's chart in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Optical Management. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM by selecting PM on the main toolbar. NextGen® Enterprise PM opens and the chart for the same patient automatically opens.
