Searching for a Person or Patient in NextGen® Enterprise PM

NextGen® Enterprise PM enables you to do the following:

  • Look up a person or patient using specific search criteria.
  • Customize the display of lookup results.
  • Search for a person or patient using the secure lookup functionality.
  • Open a patient's records across applications.
  • Open patient records based on an inclusion or exclusion list.
  • Identifying Persons and Patients You can distinguish patients and non-patients in a practice by different icons. You can view recorded non-clinical information of patients or non-patients in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  • Search for Patients in NextGen Enterprise PM You can search for a patient record in the practice using a specific search criteria. You can customize the search results.
  • Searching for Patients or Persons with Secure Lookup You can perform a secure lookup for patients or persons not directly associated with your practice and to provide an additional means of authentication.
  • Managing Practice Associations You can create and use practice associations to comply with HIPAA requirements using NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM.
  • Managing Patient Inclusion and Exclusion Lists The list of patients in the search results of the Patient Lookup window determine the patients in the inclusion or exclusion list. You can maintain the inclusion and exclusion lists in System Administrator.
  • Configuring Patient Synchronization in NextGen Enterprise PM You can configure active patient synchronization in NextGen® Enterprise PM to automatically display a patient as an active patient in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Optical Management, and NextGen® Enterprise PM.
