Search By | Is based on Person Lookup Search By selected in Practice Preferences. The Search By list consists of the following search methods. The name of the field next to Search By changes to the name of the selected number type.

View By | You can view patients by a specified parameter. The following options are available:

External System | Used with the External ID field. |
External ID | Patient's ID number in the selected external system.

Birth Date (with padlock icon) | You can enter the patient's birth date in the MM/DD/YYYY format to find a patient in another association by performing a secure lookup. The Last name and First name fields must also have an entry.

L4DSSN (with padlock icon) | You can enter the last four digits of the patient's social security number to find a patient in another association by performing a secure lookup. The Last name and First name fields must also have an entry.

Client Defined | An enterprise-level client-defined field can be displayed and used as a patient lookup parameter if it is set up in the Enterprise Preferences Client Defined tab. Exclude Expired Patients | You can specify if you want to exclude or include expired patients in your search results.

Phonetic Search | You can specify if you want to search for patients with names sounding phonetically similar in the search results. The results are weighted so that the closest match appears at the top of the search results list.
