Viewing the Patient Information Bar

To use the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, you must configure the Practice Preferences. For more information on configuring Practice Preferences for the Patient Information Bar, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest File Maintenance Preferences Guide forNextGen®Enterprise, and then see the Patient Information Bar Preferences section. The chart user preferences must be set up to enable the Patient Information Bar to appear on the patient chart during charge posting and payment entry in NextGen® Enterprise PM. User preferences override the practice preferences. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart You can open the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. Open the Patient Information Bar in Charge Posting You can open the Patient Information Bar in the Charge Posting window. Managing the Patient Information Bar

You can view the Patient Information Bar in the maximized or minimized state. The Patient Information Bar appears in the maximized or expanded view by default, displaying all the configured patient information. Note: Only the top and bottom lines of the Patient Information Bar appear in the minimized view. Maximize Return to the expanded view Note: The last view you selected is retained and displayed the next time you log on. Refresh Refresh the Patient Information Bar. Patient Information Bar Buttons

The following buttons are available on the Patient Information Bar in NextGen® Enterprise PM: Buttons Image Function Alerts If one or more NextGen® Enterprise PM alerts exist for patients, the Alerts button appears in red color. If no alerts exist, the button appears in gray color. Note: You can hover over the red button to view the Type and Description of alerts. The types of alerts that appear in NextGen® Enterprise PM are determined by settings in practice preferences. The alerts also appear in NextGen® Enterprise EHR from the Patient Information Bar if enabled in practice preferences in the EHR tab. Viewing the Desktop Layout

NextGen® Enterprise PM opens to the main desktop window, when you log on using your credentials. You can access various areas and functions of NextGen® Enterprise PM from the main desktop window. The NextGen® Enterprise PM main window comprises the following components. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart

Before you begin You must set the Practice and user preferences, to enable the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. For more information on the patient chart, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Accounts and Patient Records User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise PM. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Chart . The Patient Lookup window opens. Search for and select the patient using the available search criteria. The patient chart opens displaying the Patient Information Bar, where you can exclusively select Patient Chart Lookup and Open Menu to search for patients, set an active patient, and manage the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment. Patient Demographic Information You can select up to three types of demographic information to display on the Patient Information Bar. Select this check box... To display... MRN The patient Medical Record Number. Parent/Guardian The name of the patient parent or guardian. Enterprise Chart Indicator Whether the chart is an enterprise chart. Patient Insurance Name of the patient insurer. Encounter Insurance Whether one or more insurances are added to the encounter for billing purposes. Preferred Language The patient preferred language.
