Viewing the Desktop Layout

NextGen® Enterprise PM opens to the main desktop window, when you log on using your credentials. You can access various areas and functions of NextGen® Enterprise PM from the main desktop window.

The NextGen® Enterprise PM main window comprises the following components.
  • Title bar
  • Menu bar
  • Toolbar
  • Status bar

Layout and User Preferences User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise PM provides details regarding the basic desktop layout and about the general, location, and appointment scheduling user preferences.

  • Desktop Title Bar The title bar on NextGen® Enterprise PMdisplays the name of the practice you are currently logged on.
  • Desktop Menu Bar The menu bar options on the main menu bar of NextGen® Enterprise PMenable you to access commonly-used features of the application and customize preferences.
  • Desktop Toolbar You can customize the display settings of NextGen® Enterprise PM toolbar to change the background color, display captions and tooltips.
  • Desktop Status Bar You can view status of the NextGen® Enterprise PM application on the Status Bar.
  • Desktop Settings You can customize and reposition various windows on your desktop.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts NextGen® Enterprise PM supports the use of keyboard short cuts for common actions.
  • Configuring Session Settings Session settings is a feature in NextGen® Enterprise PM that enables you to select specific parameters that are used as defaults during your current login session.
  • Patient Information Bar You can view a patient’s information, such as patient alerts, appointments, insurance, balances, NextGen® PxP Portal status, and recall plans in the Patient Information Bar.
