Demographic Information for IHS

Additional fields may be used by IHS practices to meet state specific and/or other reporting needs. These fields are not required for the UDS report. Information Needed for the UDS Report

Although some data required for the UDS Report is more readily (or only) available from a general ledger or other external system, much of the data can be reported directly from NextGen® Enterprise PM. Several demographic fields required by Health Centers for the UDS report are available on the UDS tab of the Add/Modify Patient Information window. Additional fields are available for use by IHS practices. To display the UDS tab, enable the Display person UDS fields check box in Enterprise Preferences > UDS. Add Demographics Information

Demographic information includes details such as marital status, mother's maiden name, student status, preferred language, religion, primary care provider, and primary dental care provider. Veteran and smoker statuses can also be noted. You can enroll the patient in NextGen® Enterprise EHR the Enterprise Chart feature to view the patient’s encounters in every practice in your enterprise. On the Add Person Information or Add Patient Information window, select the Demographics tab. From Marital Status, select one of the options: Note: Marital Status is a required field in the Add Patient Information window and appears in red, if left blank. The UDS fields are only used for UDS (Uniform Data System) reporting. The fields display in NextGen® Enterprise PM on the Patient Information window only when they are enabled in Enterprise Preferences. You can also require that users enter information in these fields. Person Data Collected

The procedure to add a new person is the same in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and NextGen® Optical Management, but the data collected by each application differs, as shown in the following table.
