Add Event or Resource Appointment Limit Options

Limit Default	Equal to or greater than 1	Indicates the maximum number of appointments that can be scheduled for the event or resource for all days of the week. The default value is 1.
Weekday Limit Overrides	0	Indicates that no override is in place for the event or resource for the specified day of the week. The number in the Limit Default field will be used. The default values is 0.
Equal to or greater than 1	Indicates the maximum number of appointments that can be scheduled for the event or resource for the specified day of the week. This number overrides the number in the Limit Default field.
-1	Indicates that no appointments can be scheduled for the event or resource for the specified day of the week. This overrides the number in the Limit Default field.
Date Limit Override	Equal to or greater than 1	Indicates the maximum number of appointments that can be scheduled for the event or resource on the specified date. This number overrides the numbers in the Weekday Limit Overrides and Limit Default fields. The default value is 1.
0	Indicates that no override is in place for the event or resource for the specified date. The number in the Weekly Limit Overrides field is used, or the number in the Limit Default field is used.
-1	Indicates that no appointments can be scheduled for the event or resource on the specified date. This overrides the numbers in the Weekday Limit Overrides and Limit Default fields.

Set Up Limits for an Event

The Limits tab on the Add Event or Edit Event window is used when you want to limit the number of appointments that can be scheduled in a day for an event. The limits are defined per resource and can be by the day of the week or by a specific date. When a resource has reached their daily appointment limit for the event, the following apply: When attempting to schedule another appointment on that day for the event and resource, a scheduling conflict is generated. The appointment can only be scheduled if the user has security access rights to override appointment conflicts. When using the Appointment Search Ahead window to schedule an appointment for the event, the search results do not find or display appointment time slots for resources who have reached their daily limit. Add Appointment Fields

The following table describes the fields that are available in the Add Appointment window. Field Description Last These fields default to the date and time from the selected time slot. Event/Event Chain You can select an event or an event chain for the appointment. This is a mandatory field. Set Up Interval Overrides for an Event

Setting up an override for an event is when you add a duration time to an event that is different from the default duration time. Note: A duration time override for a resource cannot be less than the practice Default Time Interval, which is set on the Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences. For example, if the default time interval is 30 minutes, then you cannot set a resource duration time override for less than 30 minutes. However, if the default time interval changes, the duration time for the appointment reflects the default time interval, not the resource duration time override. Select the Admin > Scheduling Admin. Select the Events tab. The Events list opens. Double-click the applicable event. Note: The Interval column only displays when the Allow interval overrides check box is selected in the Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences. The Edit Event window opens. Enable Interval Overrides for the Practice

The Appointment Scheduling Practice Preferences enable you to set options and default information for the appointment book for your practice and all related service locations. You can also enable interval overrides for the practice. CAUTION: If the interval overrides is enabled and you later want to disable it, changing the resource's time interval deletes all scheduling data currently in place for the resource. This includes: member classes, appointment conflict checking data, appointment search ahead data, appointment wait lists, default resource assignments, event duration overrides, template assignments, and template exceptions. Select the Admin > Preferences > Practice. Select Appt Scheduling in the Preferences List. The Appt Scheduling Practice Preferences opens. Select the Allow interval overrides check box to enable time interval overrides at the resource, template, and event levels. Recall Plans Window Field Descriptions

You can use the fields described in the following table to configure your recall plan. Field Description Recall Plan Enter a name for the recall plan. Patient expected to return in… Enter the number of days in which the patient is expected to return by using the arrows. Select the recall period from the list. You can choose Day(s), Week(s), Month(s), or Year(s). Note: When you update the number of days in this field, the application gives you an opportunity to update any existing recall plans that use this master plan. If you choose Day(s) for the recall period, you can enter up to 5000 in the counter. If you exceed 5000 days, the value automatically gets rounded off to 5000. If you choose Week(s), Month(s), or Year(s), you can enter up to 99 in the counter. If you exceed 99, a message appears. Default Event Select the default event that is specific to the recall plan. General Tab

The General tab on the Default Appointment- Scheduling Preferences window enables you to set the default appointment scheduling preferences. The following table describes the fields on the General tab. Field Description Refresh appointments every "X" minutes If there are multiple users scheduling appointments at the same time, you can make the application refresh the appointment book at set intervals by entering the desired number of minutes. The refresh option updates the appointment book with any new appointments, cancellations, and modifications.
