Add a Recall Plan from the Add/Edit Appointment Window

From the Appointment Book, open the patient’s appointment. The Edit Appointment window opens. Select the Recall/Waitlist tab. In the Recalls section of the tab, right-click and select Recall from the menu. The Recall Plan Maintenance window opens. Parent topic: Add a New Recall Plan

Add or Update Recall Plans from Reports

Recall Plans for patients can be added or updated in batch mode from the following reports in NextGen® Enterprise PM: General > Patient Recall General > Patient Chart Demographics General > Patient Chart Demographics with Providers Daily > Charges Daily > Charges By Current User Patients listed on the report that do not have an active recall of the selected type will get a new recall plan added. Patients listed on the report that do have an active recall of the selected type will get their existing recall plan updated. Note: Each patient listed on the report is counted as a single “source”. Therefore, if a patient is listed twice on the report, the number of “sources” displayed in the prompts below will be less than number shown on the report. From the Reports menu, select one of the above reports. The Report Filter window opens. Filter the report to include the desired patient population and select OK. The Report Preview window opens. Add a Recall Plan from the Appointment Lookup Window

On the main toolbar, select the ApptList button. The Appointment Lookup window opens. Enter the appropriate Search Criteria to locate an appointment for the patient. Select Find. Recall Plans

In cases where a patient requires a future follow-up appointment and that appointment cannot be scheduled now, a Recall Plan can be entered for the patient instead. For example, a patient that was seen by a provider today to have a specific test performed may need to return next year to have the test performed again. Recalls are used in NextGen® Enterprise PM as a mechanism of sending one or more letters to the patient reminding them that they are due to return to the practice for a particular type of appointment. Recall Plans are set up in File Maintenance > PM Practice Master Files. The set up for each recall plan defines the number of days within which patients are expected to return. The return event, resource and location can be defined for each recall plan, as well as the number and frequency of reminder letters to be sent to patients.
