Locality Tax Rate

The Locality Tax Rate master file stores tax rate information for each city that uses the Tax Rate functionality. When charges are rebilled the tax rates for date of service for charges will define the tax rates that apply to taxes. Only one tax rate can apply per date of service. From the Master Files – System list, select PM > Locality Tax Rate. The Locality Tax Rate Search window opens. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu, and then select New. To modify an item, select it in the list, select Open Menu, and then select Open. You can also double-click the item to open it. The Add Locality Tax Rate Information window opens. Enter the effective and expiration dates for the tax rate. Note: The effective time period for each Location Tax file is unique. Only one Location Tax file can be in effect at any one time. Enter the city, state, ZIP code, and county for the location. Note: For the tax rates to be used, the ZIP code you entered has to match with the service

Payers Master File

Payers are the third-party entities, other than guarantors or employers, that you expect to receive reimbursement from. Some examples of payers are commercial insurance companies, Medicaid, and Medicare. In the Payers master file, you can specify the contract associated with the payer, the participating providers, how to submit claims, and other general payer information. You can generate Payers Master File reports from the Payers master file. SIG Code

The SIGs master file contains a complete list of all medication dosage instructions. This master file is usually populated during installation; data initially stored in the master file is dependent on the original NextGen database. You can enter additional SIG Codes. To add or modify a SIG code: Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click open the item. Note: You can enter an asterisk ( * ) to list all the records. The Add/Modify SIG Information window displays. Field Description Key Enter a standard abbreviation for the dosage instructions. Add Address Information

You can add the billing or secondary address for the patient using the Add Person Information window.This information includes the patient or person's mailing address. The billing address is the address used for sending correspondence between your practice and the patient. If needed, you can enter a secondary address. In NextGen® Enterprise, open the People Lookup window and select New. The Add Person Information window opens. To enter the person or patient's address, select one of the following options: Billing - Enter the address used by the practice to send statements, claim information, and any additional correspondence between the practice and the patient. Location Information Field Descriptions

The following table provides descriptions of the fields located on the Location Information window. Field Description Location Name Enter a name, up to 40 characters, for the service location. The number of characters that display in the service location drop-down lists for this name depends on how the name is entered here. For example, if the service location name is entered as all capital letters, then fewer characters display compared to an entry of a combination of upper and lower case characters. Address/ City/ State/ Zip/ Country/ County The first space is for street number and name. The second space is for other address details such as suite number. If the ZIP code table is set up, you can enter the ZIP code, and the city, state, county, and country automatically display. Phone/Ext Enter the phone number of the facility.
