SIG Code

The SIGs master file contains a complete list of all medication dosage instructions. This master file is usually populated during installation; data initially stored in the master file is dependent on the original NextGen database. You can enter additional SIG Codes. To add or modify a SIG code: Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an existing item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click open the item. Note: You can enter an asterisk ( * ) to list all the records. The Add/Modify SIG Information window displays. Field Description Key Enter a standard abbreviation for the dosage instructions. If you are adding a new SIG Code, enter a unique key. Description Enter a full description. Note Enter additional information. If you want to hide the item in the list, select the Hide check box. Zip Codes

The ZIP Codes master file contains detailed information that is updated regularly. You can create additional ZIP Codes if they do not already exist by creating them: in the master file. on the fly while you are entering patient or person information in an application such as NextGen® Enterprise PM. This master file saves you time during data entry because when you enter an existing ZIP Code for an address, the associated information (city, state, country, and county) automatically fills in for the remaining fields. To maintain ZIP Codes: Open the list of master files. Select ZIP Codes. The Zip Codes List window appears. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then selectNew. Add Address Information

You can add the billing or secondary address for the patient using the Add Person Information window.This information includes the patient or person's mailing address. The billing address is the address used for sending correspondence between your practice and the patient. If needed, you can enter a secondary address. In NextGen® Enterprise, open the People Lookup window and select New. The Add Person Information window opens. To enter the person or patient's address, select one of the following options: Billing - Enter the address used by the practice to send statements, claim information, and any additional correspondence between the practice and the patient. Secondary - Enter an additional address for the patient. For example, a case worker's address or second home. Location Information Field Descriptions

The following table provides descriptions of the fields located on the Location Information window. Field Description Location Name Enter a name, up to 40 characters, for the service location. The number of characters that display in the service location drop-down lists for this name depends on how the name is entered here. For example, if the service location name is entered as all capital letters, then fewer characters display compared to an entry of a combination of upper and lower case characters. Address/ City/ State/ Zip/ Country/ County The first space is for street number and name. The second space is for other address details such as suite number. If the ZIP code table is set up, you can enter the ZIP code, and the city, state, county, and country automatically display. Phone/Ext Enter the phone number of the facility. The area code will default in from General Practice Preferences. Contact Last Name/ First Name/ MI Enter the name of the contact person at the facility. Fax Ent
