Activate Significant Events

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Admin > Preferences > Significant Events. The Significant Events Information window opens and displays the following columns: Significant Events: Lists all the significant events the application tracks. Level: Specifies whether the application tracks significant events across the entire enterprise or system or for individual practices. Significant Events Preferences

The application tracks selected significant events for logging and auditing purposes. Selections made for significant events at the Enterprise level take effect across all practices. Selections for events at the Practice level must be made for each practice. All significant events are enabled by default. Significant events can be viewed in NextGen® Enterprise PM in the Significant Events report and at the account, chart, and encounter levels. Activate Significant Events You can select and track the significant events through the Enterprise, System, or individual practices. Significant Events Security Rights You can control access to the Significant Events Preferences by modifying the users group security rights. Significant Events Reference List You can set up the significant events in NextGen® Enterprise PM and System Administrator. Significant Events

In System Administrator, you can select NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR system, enterprise, or practice-level significant events for logging and auditing purposes. You can access this same significant events list in NextGen® Enterprise PM, but you can only report on the events in NextGen® Enterprise PM and NextGen® Enterprise EHR. All significant events are enabled by default the first time you access them. The significant events are categorized as enterprise, practice, and system levels. The significant events log entry generates when you perform the following actions: Export a document Import a file Import a directory Automatically import a directory Append a page to a filed document You can view the Significant Event record by generating a Significant Events report in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Significant Events Report

The Significant Events report provides an audit trail for specific user activity that has occurred within the NextGen Enterprise applications. These are known as significant events. When a significant event occurs, a message is recorded in each patient's chart. The message includes the name of the user that performed the event, the date/time the event occurred, and both pre-modification and post-modification information. Some significant events are System Level and are recorded for all practices in all enterprises. Other events are Enterprise Level and are recorded for all practices within the same enterprise. Other events are Practice Level and are recorded for the practice(s) in which they have been enabled.
